Do you ever hide from your children...

I have been known to do that as well. :) I try to be subtle about it though. Often I just go out to the barn and work out there (work can be just sitting on the hay bales and day dreaming!)... or making arrangements for a "girls" day of shopping with my friends... children not invited. :) Just having some adult time and quiet is the thing. DD has actually been pretty sensitive to it and usually knows when I could use some space and just eases up. Once in a while she is "extra clingy" though and I feel like she is in my hip pocket all the time. She is 11 1/2 years old... so when that happens... I try to remind myself that it won't be long and she won't want to have ANYTHING to do with me... so enjoy it while it lasts. :teeth:

I hide from mine, I've locked myself in my bathroom and have also hidden in my closet. Some how they always find me, I just need a little peace - Calgon, Take me away!!!

My favorite way to hide is to leave early (1/2 an hour) to go and pick the 3rd grader up from school. I get a great parking spot and I can sit in the car and read.. no one around, no one needing anything.. and the 3 year old is home with daddy.

I like to take a snack and something to drink too.... my own private space.... unfortunately the bell rings and the 8 year old appears and starts asking questions and thats the end of that!

But it was nice while it lasted!

CDEMom- The bathroom is where I draw the line with my kids. I mean, I love my kids, but they are NOT going into the bathroom whan I am in there. I know a lot of mommys that do that and I give you all a lot of credit!

I actaully had to start locking the door when my son figured out how to open it. They can cry all they want, I am not in there very long anyway, but that is my space. Actually, that wore off on my son..Nico refuses to let anyone in...and I am glad!

Yes, I hide from my children. I remember one rare moment when I was eating breakfast alone at the kitchen table. DD's were playing outside with their father. FIL walks into the room and asks if I am sitting with all my friends. I replied "In fact, I am. Meet my good friends Peace and Quiet."

.....all the time and whenever I can! ;) They always find me, especially when they want something. I must not be very good at it.

Add me to the list!! I have four boys, so it is quite LOUD at my house. I like to go to my room and lock the door so they can't find me!! Though, they do stand outside my door and yell for me til I open up!! I just yell thru the door to go ask your father (who was probably sitting right NEXT to them on the couch)!

Yep, I have to have my me time!!;)

Let's see told my family I was visiting friends at the Cape about an hour away and ran away to MD for a DIS pin meet.

Nope never hid from them.

I hide all the time but they keep finding me. Next time I'm hiding on a Disney Cruise.

Now that my boys are older I just go in my bedroom and shut the door. If they knock I just call out "I'm in my underwear." Their biggest fear in life is that they'll see me in my underwear so that buys me about 20 minutes. (Isn't it weird how they'll think nothing of walking in while I'm in the bathroom or even in the shower, but the mere mention of underwear sends them screaming?)
