I'm having one of those days. I took dd to a high school today to visit. It's about 20 minutes from us and we are very interested in this school - it's a parochial/catholic high school. As I'm leaving to come back to work, I'm driving along the interstate thinking to myself - I can't believe I'm the mom of a teenager and I can't believe that she will be in high school in just over a year....YIKES!!!!! What the heck was I thinking!!!!!!

Do you ever have those days??? I do remember having them in different stages as she has grown up - I can't believe she's in kindergarten stage, I can't believe she's in full day school stage, I can't believe she is such a smart kid stage, etc. A to be a parent.....

Yep, seems as if I often have days like that lately December.

When I look at my oldest and realize that at her age I was married and had a baby I think about how I could be a Grandma at my age and

The fact that she is looking for an apartment of her own (NOT at school), freaks me out.

Yes and I have barely started. :(

I am really noticing the changes more lately since he has learned so much in the last 6 weeks or so. It kind of makes me sad sometimes when I see him getting so big and moving around so much but I am also so excited for him and it is fun to see him grow and change. It is really bittersweet.

I just can't believe how fast the time is going by.

Tell me about it Chris !!!! My DD's are 27, 22 and 19. In July I will no longer have a teenager (maybe that's a good thing :D). I have no idea where the time went.  I still remember taking Holly (sydally9367) to her first day at kindergarten.

I understand December99!

Everyday!!!!! I find myself thinking about the High School situation? Where she'll want/choose to go? Right now she is also in a Parochial/catholic School. But we live in a town with a great school system.

We'll see?

My youngest "baby" will be 7 in April. Seems like I just gave birth to him :)

Yes, I wonder every day how my girls grew up so fast. My oldest graduates from college in May, and my baby will turn 21 this fall. They are so grown up, but I had kids at their age and can't imagine either of them being a mom (or me a grandma). Time flies, cherish your kids.

YUP! My sons are 23 & 20 - and I can't figure out where those little boys went to!? My husband said it best when he paraphrased something we all know: "the days were long, but the years flew by!" I have had "empty nest syndrome" real bad, but it helps that we moved out of the house they grew up in.

Not only do I have those days where I can't believe how old my daughter is, I'm also having a lot of those days that I can't believe how old I am!

Every day. And my kids are only 4 & 8!

I am in the same boat as everyone here. A week an a half ago I took my daughter to the High School for Freshman Orientation...Lord where has the time gone!

A friend of ours/neighbor just turned 16 today. I remember when she was little and have watched her grow up as well. Seems like yesterday, and now she's driving.

Time flies "when you're having fun" or "going crazy" - not sure which one pertains to me - probably the latter - hard to believe that all of mine kiddies are in their 20s and one of them is approaching 30 - glad they are the only ones getting older - cuz I know that I'm not!

That same thing hit me the other day when I went somewhere after I put dd2 on her school bus and thought, what happened to time?? not too long ago she was born , now she's on that bus going to school and starting to read in kindergarten! DD1 hit me with that last Christmas with all the things she wanted, no toys , all girly stuff, make up, clothes, CD's.
When the heck did this all happen?? ;)

Yes:(
I have one DS who is getting his driving permit very soon.
I can't believe how fast our time is going by with him.

I think it hit my mom about a month ago. She called me and emailed me begging me to come home for a weekend. I think it finally hit her that I'm married and on my own 5 hours away from her.

I have a LOT of those days lately...DD 16 (a junior) is about to get her license... and we are starting to look at colleges... and she was invited to senior prom.....

I remember the "oh wow" moments--- she's walking...talking...riding a two-wheeler...going to first grade...getting her period...going to high school........now all of a sudden those moments are more frequent and more scary! ;) :teeth:

I'm in the same boat as you December99. DD will enter high school in September. I can't possibly the mother of a high schooler! I'm still a young chick!

I feel like that about my neices and and nephews all the time- my oldest one is 13 now. 13!!! How on earth did that happen??

Yes.
