Do you ever get your waitlist vacation

I've waitlisted a few times before and never had them come through until now. We booked at Jambo and waitlisted Kidani. It was for 4 days and included a weekend so I was pretty happy that we got it. It came through within a few days.

The Savanna View 2-Bedroom is Available for all but your first night.
The Standard View is Available except for the first two nights.

You would have a much better shot to waitlist for the one and two nights.
You could book a cash room for the first night and waitlist.
Then cancel the cash reservation if your waitlist comes through.
Or keep SSR for the first two nights and hope the others come through.
There is also a chance AKV could declare more rooms and then more rooms would open up.

For one or two nights you would have a shot.
I think all the nights together is a long shot.

Thanks! I think we are going to keep our SSR ressies and just pray the AKL comes through. The in-laws are turning 70 during this trip, and regardless of how easy it is, I hate to ask them to pack up and move mid trip! I have 43 more years to stay at AKL--and do split stays with the hubby!

Just an update about wait lists--we had a 2 bedroom at BWV booked at 11 months for an adult trip for F & W.

Things happened and the trip had to be changed...DH and I decided, since we have to take care of some personal business for my parents who winter in FL in the fall, we might as well still try to go.

In the past few weeks, I was able to switch things around and got Friday, the 19th in 1 bedroom SV which allowed me to drop one of the nights in the 2 bedroom. I then put in a wait list for the 20th and 21st in a 1 bedroom in hopes to get back some points since the two of us certainly didn't need a 2 bedroom.

On Sunday, I found out that the wait list for a 1 bedroom, pool view, came through!!!! I then called and got on a wait list for the 19th for the same view so that we wouldn't have to change rooms.

Can you believe it, but last night, that came through...so, in a matter of weeks, I was able to get 3 nights at BWV, during October, in a 1 bedroom via the wait list--so there is always hope things will happen!!!!!

There are 3 major factors in being successful with your waitlist.

1 Someone cancels their vacation who has the same dates as your wanted dates and you are the next in line for those dates.

2 DVC runs the waitlist program that does the matches.

3 The CM at DVC processes the match.

Many have posted that matches are not made when their dates were actually available.

I have waitlisted and didn't get what I want until I have actually checked in. I was scheduled for 1 night at AKL, 3 at AKV and 1 at VWL. I asked at the AKL desk if anything was available at AKV. I checked into AKV at AKL and just took bus over to AKV. I was able to stay at AKV for entire time without changing rooms. Sometimes people cancel at last minute. Glad it worked out for us.

I just got my waitlist at AKV. I am going on a girls trip in November, and originally I was going to have to stay 2 nights in one room then move to another room for other 2 nights. Just this week, my waitlist came thru to stay all 4 nights in one place! I think the waitlists come through more often than you might think. Good luck!

Our WL over Thanksgiving came through for AKV last week.We got a st view at jambo, but I am being greedy and hoping that our second WL for Kidani will come through. My boys are excited as they have never stayed there. I will be happy staying at Jambo, but would love the master bath at Kidani if we can get it.

I am wait listed, since Saturday July 7, for one night in a 2bedroom at OKW the second night of our stay. If it doesn't come through we will be one night at OKW, then SSR, then 3 nights back at OKW!

I waitlisted a studio at Boardwalk during F&W. I have been checking periodically and booking rooms as they became available. I was able to book five out of six nights myself without the waitlist and just yesterday my waitlist came through for the last night. Yay!
