I am new to DVC and just put my vacation on a waitlist. I have 6 night booked already at Saratoga Springs in a 2 bedroom lock off, but I really want Animal Kingdom Lodge. I was just wondering how many folks ever get their wait list wish granted?

What are your traveling dates?

I have gotten four out of five of our wailists good luck.

We are going September 28th-October 3rd. The hubs and I are running the Tower of Terror 10 Mile on September 29th :scared:
My Mom-In-Love turns 70 while we are there....and we are taking 3 members of the hubs family (Dad, Sister, and Nephew) who have never been to the World before! :cool1:

We will be happy anywhere, but I REALLY want to try Animal Kingdom!

Congrats on getting your wishlists!

I have had good luck sometimes and other times no luck at all. I will say that one of the times the waitlist did not come through was for approximately the same dates you are looking for and the same size unit at AK. I have had the best luck when it is only a day or so that I need. It also seems that I had better luck five or more years ago than the last 4 or 5. Currently I am on a waitlist for Sept 29 for 1 night in a BCV studio. It has been over 2 months and no luck. I know that is the first full day of F&W so am really just glad I was able to get SSR for my son for the night before their honeymoon cruise. If the waitlist comes through it will be special pixie dust that does it I know. I just added 3 days to our trip from Oct 7-10 and did not have many options but was lucky enough to get a 1 BR at SSR. I wish you luck and hope your waitlist comes through.

The fact that you have to get 6 days available may be the problem. Good luck!

Most of mine have come through. Are you interested in doing a split stay? If so, you might want to try and wait list for only some of the nights--or go online and check...if you see some of the nights come through, give MS a call and have them modify the reservation for those nights and then re-do the wait list for the remaining nights.

Good luck!

I think every one of our waitlists have come through.

Our shortest waitlist was this week - gave up AKV Savanna view for 6 days at OKW. But there was one day outstanding, and so we waitlisted, and in less than 48 hours, our waitlist came through!

Good luck to OP, Tiger :)

I have only waitlisted 2 times and neither one came through but it was for a very busy time (F&WF) so that was probably the reason. OKW is one of our "homes" and we were very happy we had reservations there.

Thanks everyone! I will be happy either way--As long as I get some time in The World!:cool1:

I only had to waitlist once because I wanted to add a night to the beginning of my vacation. I got the night added pretty quickly after that. Best of luck!

The first time I waitlisted I took us off after a couple of months, decided we would actually be happier where we were staying. The last time the waitlist came through the very next day. It was only for 1 night right in the middle of a 7 night stay at SSR. Not too surprising.

I have been on the waitlist for BCV for 4 months. I know this is a tall order because I need a dedicated 2 bedroom w/2 queen beds for the opening weekend of F&W. Mission Impossible, I know. Stranger things have happened. Last year I was able to get a BCV dedicated 2 br right at the 7 month mark.

Luckily I am already booked for the same thing at BLT and know we will be happy to stay there. We will really be needing the sleeper chair and the extra bathroom anyway. Only wanted to move because part of our group is already staying at BCV.

4 out of the 6 nights are available at Kidani. You'd have much better success if you booked those 4 nights and W/L'd the fri & sat only.

We've always had our waitlists come through. The shortest time we waited was 1 day, but that was a long time ago. Our last waitlist, for our upcoming vacation, came through in about 2 weeks, but it was for SSR. Now I've waitlisted again, hoping to move over to OKW. I have no doubt that it too will eventually come through. However, if it doesn't, SSR will be just fine with us.

We are the unlucky ones. We have waitlisted 5 different times and never had one come through. :sad1:

I have waitlisted three times.

- Once it came through - Aulani last winter and not a busy time for 3 nights.

- Never got AKL concierge for one night - no surprise but had to try ;)

- Presently on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom at BCV in Sept. Only need one night and have been on the list for 3 months now. We will probably end up just staying offsite for cheap since it is the first day of our trip.

I've never had a waitlist come through. Maybe some resorts have a better chance of having it come through. Each time I've been on a waitlist, it's been for the Beach Club Villas. None of them were at peak times, but none of them came through. It is a smaller resort than some of the others, so that might be a factor. Nevertheless, we've had wonderful stays at some of the other resorts, even though they weren't our first choice.

Our waitlist came through for the trip we're actually on right now. In fact, as I was making the beds this morning, it occurred to me that we'd have been checking out right about now to move to a different resort if these next few days hadn't finally come through.

I've waitlisted a few times before and never had them come through until now. We booked at Jambo and waitlisted Kidani. It was for 4 days and included a weekend so I was pretty happy that we got it. It came through within a few days. :woohoo:

The Savanna View 2-Bedroom is Available for all but your first night.
The Standard View is Available except for the first two nights.

You would have a much better shot to waitlist for the one and two nights.
You could book a cash room for the first night and waitlist.
Then cancel the cash reservation if your waitlist comes through.
Or keep SSR for the first two nights and hope the others come through.
There is also a chance AKV could declare more rooms and then more rooms would open up.

For one or two nights you would have a shot.
I think all the nights together is a long shot.

I hope you are having an amazing vacation!!:goodvibes
