when you know the answer is yes? Slight Rant Ahead.

I spend way to much time on these boards and read a lot of question threads from people. I responded to something on the resort board only to have other posters say oh no you can't do that or it is highly unlikely you could.

I don't mean to be a downer but sometimes I wish people would just ease up. After all its just a message board and most that come here are initially drawn by their love of all things Disney and their first trip to the World.

Being a veteran of WDW I did not ask if I could book a trip with ADR's to WDW for July 14 through the 21 and do it on June 12th. I know what the answer would have been. NOT LIKELY!! NO WAY!! CAN'T BE DONE!!

Well guess what? We got seven nights at Pop Century, the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and ADR's at Teppenyaki in Japan, Ragland Road, Garden Grill, and Wolfgang Pucks, plus a round of golf at my course of choice at 32 days out.

To any newbies seeking advice read it carefully and learn from it but always question it and give it a try. Sometimes we veterans tend to think we know to much and scare you away from even trying.

Sorry  End Rant

Great advice; and the opposite advice is even more critical for newbies to understand: Quite often you read things on these board that are simply not always the case. Each guests' experience is unique, and just because someone was able to do something doesn't mean everyone will be allowed to do so. Just because something worked for someone doesn't mean it will work for everyone. Finally, just because someone did so doesn't mean that they should have (a good example of that is cutting in line.), or anyone else should follow suit.

In a way, this is probably more important for newbies to understand, because if they don't think they can do something and then find that they can do it, then they're delighted. It is a positive experience. OTOH, if they are led to believe that they can do something, and find that they cannot, then they have a negative experience, attributable at least in part to us members here on the boards.

Either way: Readers beware!

Excellent point.

As the saying goes: it doesn't hurt to ask. If one person says no to you chances are someone else will say yes. I find if you are persistent and keep pushing, but you are also polite about it usually not always but usually you can get what you want. :thumbsup2
