Do you ever get inspired to cook things you see on FoodTv?

I've made 3 recipes lately from Paula Deen's show. She made the recipes seem too easy. And they are.:teeth: One recipe, I had my dd make because she kept insisting on making it (it was some fudge made with Velveta:teeth: ).

What have you made and did it turn out the way you thought it would?:)

Emeril's Funky Southwestern Turkey is now a must at Thanksgiving.

I just made Alton Browns "City Ham" for Easter and it turned out delicious. The crust consisted of mustard, brown sugar, bourbon, & crushed ginger snap cookies. MMmmmmm it was to die for. I took the leftovers and made ham & beans that was also to die for. *drool*

I've tried something from Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals, but don't remember what is was. Her food always looks great, but I'm not in to vegetables and some of the unique ingredients she uses.

I cook from the shows on there all the time .
I bought 4 of Rachel Rays cookbooks and like all of them

Right now Paula Deen is my Fav though
Try her peach cobbler YUMM

Nope but I sure love watching that channel :D

I made Paula Deens Banana Pudding several times over the holidays and it was wonderful ( and I don't even like Banana Pudding)

I watch Emeril once in a while and I've been tempted to try some of his recipes. I always talk myself out of it though because DS is real picky, DH is always working out of town and I'm supposed to be watching what I eat. So there's no one here to eat most of this stuff.

No because they don't show many meals that come out of a box and get baked straight from the freezer. And all those those darn recipes almost always have more more than 3 ingredients....my limit!;)

I cook things that I got from Alton Brown and Rachel Ray. They both cook a lot like I do--using whatever is on hand and NEVER measuring. I don't even look up their recipes on the Internet. I just recreate them from memory. Neither of them would probably recognize the things of theirs that I cooked, LOL.

Rachel Raye is my favorite... then comes Paula, Alton, Sara...., Emiril is fun.. don't care for Mario at all, the British kid is cute.. but I want to wash him and his kitchen with lots of soap and water

I use the FoodNetwork recipes all the time. Rachel, Sara and Paula have taught me some great techniques.

Channel 43-Food Network is usually on during the day around here.. I like having them talk to me when I am working around the house.

Made this stuffed baked cabbage wrap things after watching a Public Television cooking program . I wanted to try something different. She made it look alot easier than it was.

My DH enjoyed but after all the preparation and dishes, I'm never going to make it again. :o

I have never tryed to make an actual receipe, but Emeril has sure gotten my courage up to use ingrediantsand spices in ways I never thought of.:earseek:

My DD absolutly loves Emeril and while I am cooking I say "BAM" and she laughs.:hyper: Then I ask her, "What does Emeril say?" and she says, "Pork fat rules!!!!":hyper: Yeah, we love Emeril.

I haven't seen Jamie Oliver on Foodtv in awhile. He reminds me of a cooking Croc Hunter.:teeth: They both have so much energy and crack me and my ds up.:teeth: He could stand something done to his hair though.:teeth:

I love watching the channel but prefer to use the chefs as inspiration and to rely on my tried-and-true recipe books.

I mostly enjoy watching Rachael Ray and Emeril, but I will tune in frequently to see what everyone else is cooking up. Rachael has definitely helped me be more relaxed when I cook. I used to get so uptight and had to measure everything exact. Now I just toss whatever looks good into the pan, and everything tastes so much better now because I'm having fun. :p

Emeril makes everything look easy and definitely explains what all the fancy words mean, but I finally realized why I most likely will not make any of his recipes. You either have to marinade or chill things for hours, and that's just not me. I DON'T plan that far ahead. He also has staff who have measured out all his ingredients for him ahead of time, which is why he can throw a dish together quickly. As soon as I get a cooking assistant, hey, I will be whipping up fancy stuff too! ;)
