Ok, I know this may sound crazy - heck I probably am:sick:. But do you ever feel like you don't want to go on your trip? We leave tomorrow and after months of planning, reading these boards, reading the Unofficial Guide and Tour Guide Mike, watching the Travel Channel Disney specials, making a resort reservation, changing the resort reservation, making ADRS, changing ADRs (because I had to change resorts) and now packing, I kind of don't want to go. I know our 9-day trip is going to be over before I know it - it always seems to go by too quickly!! It's like Christmas when you were a kid - the anticipation and counting down and then when it was over you would kind of feel bummed.
Just wanted to see if I was the only person out there that gets like this before their trip to WDW.
I really am excited, I just wish there was a way to S-L-O-W down time so our trip to seem to be over in the blink of an eye.
Thanks for letting me 'vent'!

I totally understand. But think of it this way you can start planning for an even better trip when you get back and take in to account everything you learned. :wizard:

I know I am going to feel the same way for our trip. I booked it in Aug 2005 and we have 40 days left. What am I going to do with my time when were back and will the trip be a let down after reading so much and planning? I am going to plan a European vacation when we get back and that will take me about 2 years to save, plan and obsess over. I am redoing the same trip we did in March 2005 as my EX was moody and miserable the whole time and ruined my vacation. I had considered it a 2nd honeymoon and he ended up deciding to move out and completely change his life when we got home, we divorced in Dec 2005. I must of had my head buried pretty deep in the sand. :confused3 I know I am placing too much emotion in this trip telling myself it is what I have to do to move on but what if it doesn't work and all I will think about is how bad our last trip was?

Totally understand. I finally booked our August 2008 trip and I thought I'd feel super-excited. I'm glad to have our plans finalized, but it was a bit anti-climatic. I plan on putting together a care package fo my two little DD's. I think that it will bring back that magical feeling I got when I did my research to plan this trip. Of course, I'm looking forward to my trip. I guess this brings the reality of the end of it a little closer. Maybe I'm still in shock that it will finally happen someday. If you hear screaming from CT during the night, you'll know that the shock wore off!

I totally understand! We leave in 5 days and I can't even pack. I just don't want it all to be over.

i understand - the planning is constant, on-going thru the year(s) leading up to the trip itself - once you're there, time seems to fly by - me, i love the anticipation, packing, making ADRs, creating an itinerary sometimes more than the trip, because there have been visits where it's so stressful, trying to live up to the "fantasy vacation" you created on paper (and in your mind) during the long, extensive planning stage

Me too!!!
Doesn't it feel good to know you are not alone with your feelings?!?

I think we get so consumed with the planning- reading dis, reading books, ADRs, resorts, flights, weather, packing...that when it comes down to the D-day (Disney day), it is all over. No more planning. We go from every conversation between DH and I consisting of some aspect of our trip, to living the experience. And then you come back and feel blah :( -or at least he and I do. What helps us with post-Disney depression is planning our next trip. Whether it is to Disney or elsewhere. Also we buy some sort of sentimental object while there so we can be constantly reminded of the good times. Last Disney trip was to DL and I bought pens and a DL mousepad with the retro-map of the park on it! I see it everyday and smile :) The trip before, we bought a bobble-head statue of the 3 ghosts from Haunted Mansion. One of my most fave souvies ever! It sits on top of our TV stand.
Anyways, you get the idea. Just know you are not alone  .
