Do you ever feel like an idiot on these boards?

I feel misunderstood sometimes. Lke, I'll be saying one thing, but it comes off totally different. That happens alot on message boards though.

Always be careful who you call a troll. That really can offend someone if they aren't.

Someone accused me of posting a thread yesterday just for attention. There were posts by people that were insulting me left and right, and those didn't bother me as much as the aforementioned one.

In general I don't reply to people who are known as "just asking questions or starting conversations". ;) :teeth: But sometimes I do just for fun. I don't mind a thought provoking non-true question as long as that's how it's presented.

As far as yesterday's troll, that was so way out there I thought is was so funny. Either someone was trying to be funny (PM me if you know their true identity :rotfl: ) or someone had way too much free time on their hands. Or both. I do have a toilet that needs to be scrubbed and vacuuming to do, so if they simply have too much free time they can visit me and do something useful with their time. :rotfl2:

Myst

That's how I'd describe myself as well.

I think I know the threads you're talking about. I answered one as well, then I noticed all the extra questions. Oh well, if the OP got a laugh out of it, so be it.

Yeah, I've been so busy at work, I don't have time to do my laundry, Maybe they could come to my house tomorrow, after they finish at yours! :rotfl:

I always reply to those threads. I start some myself. I, like others, just like to talk to people and want opinion at times. Nothing wrong with that at all.

No, it's because you're a man! :teeth: And if you talk like the REAL boomhauer, well, no wonder no one can understand you.

Yep...I think I did one yesterday....but I looked at it as "what if I was new and posted a question and no one responded to it" As a newbie I would be so disappointed (heck as one who has been around since '99 I get disappointed when I get no replies or passed over on topics. (unless I type something really stupid...that everyone will catch! :teeth: )

No - I don't talk like that.

That would be awesome though!

But are you asking for opinions or talking about something real? Or at least framing it in such a way that people know that this is just a discussion question? If so, that's different and not what Im talking about. I mean people that say that it's something that is really happening, but if you piece their posts together you know it's impossible (or at least highly unlikely) for someone to have that much drama in their life.

I can't say that it bothers me that people post certain things, but more that I tend to ignore their posts. Not all the time, though. Sometimes drama is fun! :teeth:

Not really sure.

In regards to my post from yesterday, I got a couple replies accusing me of making it up or looking for attention. That REALLY ticked me off.

Personally, I like the idea of a annonymous message forum. You can get opinions, and with the exception of a few, they're honest, unbias opinions.

This answers your question, but is still off topic:

Yes, I do frequently feel like an Idiot because, after all.....I am the Ultimate Thread Killer!! :guilty:

As I have expressed before.....I just hate it when I am the last to post on any given thread!!!

I'm pretty sure I have now taken the crown from you! :flower:

Yes, indeedy - Just realized that a thread I responded to was started by a troll yesterday. I don't post a lot and now I feel like I should just reply to posters I know, of course, sometimes when I do that I feel like an idiot for having the "wrong" opinion and I have learned not to touch the political or religious threads with a 10 foot pole! Oh well, carry on.
But at least you have a very attractive avatar!!

Btw... you guys who claim to be thread killers...

The one that really bugs me is when I've made a comment or given an opinion and than a few replies later someone gives the same opinion and everyone comments on that, like mine never existed.

Sometimes I just feel invisible.

Count me in on that one.

I hate when I respond seriously to a person's question, only to come to the conclusion that I (or "we") have been played. Someone (usually a newbie) will ask a perfectly fine question & being the good sport that I am, will give a respectable answer. Then, they go on to pose more qustions with new threads - it all adds up to "troll". And here I was, trying to be nice to someone!

sheesh - enough to make me a lurker only!

OH MIN.. no way... I look for you!! No lurking for you please!

After I posted on your thread, I got to thinking I hope no DISers ever meet me and my DH and spill everything I have posting about him!! :rotfl2:

As long as you weren't the DISer who posted about her husband's hemorroids. That wasn't you, right??? :rotfl:

mtblujeans said:
Nope....not me.....this time! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: When I mentioned about the hemorroids, I figured with my luck it would be you and then I'd really feel stupid (as opposed to feeling half stupid like I usually feel). Do we have an open mouth, insert foot smilie? But glad that it wasn't you and I hope whoever it was is not reading this thread or I'm back to feeling stupid. :rotfl:

And why do you think that I'm not bringing my husband to the local DIS meet? :rotfl:

Okay some of you may say you feel invisible, but I really am. I have asked twice on two seperate threads for someone to please explain to me what exactly the term troll means and so far I have no responses.

Great, not only do my kids ignore me, now all the other DISers are too!
Boo hoo poor little me. I'm gonna go put on my wedding dress and look at myself in the mirror. Just seeing how pretty I am will cheer me up. Then it won't matter that I'm invisible to you all :snooty: because I'm a beautiful princess! princess:

:rotfl:  ;)
