Do you dress yourself/kids in Disney things while there??

We also try to have everyone, or at least the kids, matching for each day we're there so if one does get lost, I don't have to rack my brain to remember what the lost child is wearing. That being said, ds7 refuses to wear princess shirts (can't imagine why) and the girls, 5 and 9, don't want to wear Buzz, etc. So, we compromise and dh and ds wear "boy" characters and the girls and I wear "girl" characters.

Most days though, we don't have on Disney shirts. We save that for at home.

Dh and I wear our Disney stuff whenever we go to DW. And yes Disney pj's are a must.

Disney clothes here also! Usually t-shirts for me and embroidered polos for dh. Matching handmade dresses for dd5 and dd7 (all in disney fabrics). Disney pjs and underwear for the kids also. :)

I'm buying costumes for the Halloween party as soon as my princess decides which princess she wants to be! She'll wear her costume to CRT as well. The prince wants to be Woody, as Toy Story is his favorite movie. He has a Nemo t-shirt, a Buzz t-shirt and a Toy Story sweatshirt. The princess has an Violet t-shirt and a princess sweatshirt. I'm sure we'll bring them all with us.

On a side note, here's what NOT to do - when DH and I were there on our honeymoon in '94, we wore our matching Beavis and Butthead shirts while we took photos with Mickey in Toon Town. Brilliant! We realized our faux pas when we saw the photos. Not only were they not Disney characters, but they were not exactly family oriented. Doh! Needless to say, later that day we bought Mickey shirts and had the photos taken again.

:rolleyes1

Everyday. I just think it adds to the magic. I make loads of t-shirts and jewelry with the characters for me and my dd's. I'm obsessed. I like a total immersion experience. :teeth:  :earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MinnieMo

If my dh didn't wear his Disney t-shirts, he'd have nothing to wear! Seriously, he buys a couple of new Disney shirts every trip, and every time I shop at the Disney store I try to pick something up for him, so he's got a ton of appropriate attire. I'm not as into the clothes, but I did buy a couple of the 2 for $29.50 polos with the understated Mickey silhouette, I used to have a pair of tennis shoes with a similar silhouette that I got at the AK (had to buy them when the shoes I brought fell apart :rolleyes1 ) and I never go anywhere without my Tinkerbell earrings.

My dd has always had a lot of Disney clothing (compliments of Grandpa and the Disney store), and the characters ALWAYS notice when you're wearing Disney gear. We have a great picture of her at 2 with Ariel wearing an Ariel sweatshirt--it was a great ice-breaker for the two of them. I highly recommend picking up a few Disney clothing items before you go for all of you, but especially the kids. Disney direct and/or the Disney stores often have end of season closeout deals that are pretty good. And it's almost always cheaper than buying them once you get down there--they don't discount much when you're actually at the parks.

Have a magical trip!

I have to say, my DS would wear a Disney tshirt or baseball hat and that was it. Having a girl is a whole different story :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

She is a clothes hog!!!

There are some great threads on the Crafting board here for designs Shirt & craft ideas

There are several great designers here on the Dis that will design great iron-ons for you to put on your own shirts! Check it out!

We buy Disney themed baseball caps - a must for my family to wear at WDW.

On sale at our Disney Store. DD has white with pink words princess & crown on it, DS has gold with mickey in black stenciled on it, DW has pink with embroidered tickerbell on it, and DH has kakhi (tan) with embroidered mickey laying in a hammock on it.

We bought DH a white golf style short sleave shirt with a mickey embroidered wear a pocket would go. He even wears it on casual work days.

When there is a sale - I pick up Disney themed items.
You can even find Disney character clothes at JC Penny, Waltmart, Target,...

Some days the kids wear disney stuff some days not. I ususally pick up one or two shirts for them while we are there. This trip i found a couple of sweatshirts and a hockey jersey so they would have some clothes for the fall and winter.

DH & I always wear Disney clothes at WDW (DL too), then again we wear them at home too. :earboy2: DH even wears Disney ties to work. When DS was younger (he's now 19) he wore Disney shirts and baseball hats to the parks too. Now the only Disney clothes he has is a shirt & a sweatshirt with The Nightmare Before Christmas.

In my closet, you will find a ton of disney T-shirts and sweatshirts.
As for DD4, at least 75% of her closet is disney and princess stuff.

So no, I don't think you're trying to be too much in the disney spirit! I don't think that's even possible
I too have a ton's of Disney stuff, so I dress disney all the time. You should see my closet. When my DD's were little they too had ton's of t-shirts. But now to big for to many disney DD(16). She will still were it just not all the time.

i usually buy a shirt or sweashirt during the trip and wear it then. my husband will maybe buy a very subtle disney teeshirt. i might buy my gd a costume before we go..have to see what her mama thinks and what she is interested then.

my family would laugh hysterically and refuse :rotfl: if i asked them to wear matching shirts no matter where we were. we all go for the "individual" look

jann1033, my family, would, too. My DH and I will change if our shirts are even in the same color family-lol

I brought DD's Minnie Mouse a halloween dress from last year this past trip thinking it would be cute for her to wear one day-unfortunately it was blazing hot so we never got to do it. But we did have a few of her shirts from the Disney Store as well as old shirts of mine from past trips!

I have no kids--but my closet is full of disney clothes (ISN'T IT ALL ABOUT ME ANYWAY) I mostly take my disney clothes when we go to WDW. Alot of people ask where I get all my shirts-you just need to know where to look :rotfl:

I am a very classic dresser normally, so I live in the Disney polo shirts when I am down there. Unfortunately, they are cut super straight, so I sew a couple of "curves" into them so you can see that a woman with a wasteline is in them :)

:rotfl2: And here I was thinking it was all about me! Thanks for setting me straight! :rotfl2: Think you'd mind sharing the spotlight?

For myself it depends on the season I visit the parks. Summer when wearing tank shirts I have NO disney tank shirts:( Might have to fix that problem.

Spring Winter and Fall I got tons of Disney Tshirts and Sweatshirts. Jackets too. Yes I wear disney clothing in the parks when its practical for the time of year I go.

DD still wears some disney stuff in the parks but she now likes to wear her team Vball shirts and stuff that shows where she is from. At 15 DD is getting more into being stylish too.

It is my DS's first trip, and I would LOVE to dress him totally in Disney stuff. Unfortunately, like another poster said, I am a SAHM and my husband doesn't believe in spending more money on an already expensive vacation. I have bought him about 3 shirts, but I'm saving the rest of the $ for our souveniers once we are there.

Also, since we are going in a couple of weeks, I'm trying not to buy dark colored shirts as it is supposed to still be in the low 90s. It is hard, because so many of the boys shirts are navy and dark green. I'm worried those will be too hot when we are standing in the sun.

Hope you have a wonderful first trip with lots of Disney Magic!!!! :cool1:
