Not as a princess princess: I mean do you dress up for dinner or stay in Park clothes? We always dress up for resort meals but last trip ended up running late and just eating in the Epcot restaurants in our casual park clothes(read shorts) So do you always dress up for meals- even those in the parks? I noticed the shorts people that time because I was one of them and saw many others as well.

The most I dress up in is a nice pair of Capris, but generally nice shorts is all I do. Now if I was going to California Grill or Victoria and Alberts I would dress up but for the character meals etc. I think nice shorts and a polo shirt are good enough.

We don't dress up for meals because we usually either eat in the parks or at the more casual resort restaurants. If we were going to dinner at one of the nicer resort restaurants we might change into something a little nicer than our park clothes, but I don't think it's really expected anyplace other than Victoria & Albert's. If you are dining at Jiko, Palio, Blue Zoo, or a couple of other similar restaurants, you'll probably find more people dressed up than at other restaurants.

T hirt & Shorts, except when we went to the park just to eat, then jeans and a casual shirt

We generally dine at one of the upscale restaurants every night, and for those, always change into business casual. Slacks and a collared shirt (or sportcoat over a dressy "uncollared" shirt) for my DH, and a casual dress, slacks and blouse, etc. for me. This is for Bistro as well.

If we are dining at a moderate restaurant, such as Kona, Spoodles, GF Cafe, etc., we'll wear shorts and a nicer top. If we are dining at a casual place such as 50's PT or LTT, it's park attire.

For dinner we usually change if we're eating at a nicer resort restaurant. We don't like eating all hot and sweat either so for us its more enjoyable to change clothes before we eat. You'll definitly see all different types of dress.

Just to add - we do go back to the room and change and shower. We just put on new shorts and usually polo shirts. I don't think I'd want to wear the same clothes to dinner that I wore all day to the park. Of course we come back every day to swim and nap so it's not a big deal for us to change.

So true, you'll see everything. My husband has to dress up everyday for work. So when he's on vacation, he refuses to wear a tie or any shirt with a collar. Even on the Disney cruise, he refused to "dress up" for dinner. The best I could do with him on the cruise was a polo shirt for the dressy times. It makes packing for him easy and takes us alot less room. At WDW he wears park attire to any meal. We stay away from V&A or any other "fancy" place.

We used to dress up for our resort dinners, but have decided we won't any longer. Disney reservationists say..resort casual..blah, blah, blah, well, we always pack the extra clothes and the dress code isn't enforced for everyone so from now on we are packing much lighter.

DL does it right..they don't put that resort casual dresscode out there, even for the upper end restaurants. You come as you are..and the restaurants seemed pretty full when we were there. Maybe WDW should learn a thing or two from them.

Us, too.

I don't even think I'm bringing long pants..... no I don't get dressed up and usually go to the meals right from the park.... however, this is the first trip we are going to sit down dinners... so maybe i'll wear my good shorts.... I know i'm a slob but i'm not there to impress anyone. i want to be comfortable for my 14 hour days....

The problem is that in the summer people tend to smell a bit ripe by the end of the day, and who wants to sit next to someone who smells while trying to enjoy a nice dinner.

We enjoy dressing up a bit for dinner. I feel more put together when I'm clean and in nicer clothes, and it's a great time for photo ops.

We never do a fullday at the parks. If eating a table service at the park, we eat as-is. But for dinner, when we usually are returning after an afternoon shower and cleanup, we always put on something nicer.

I feel more comfortable in skirts than shorts anyways, so I am more than happy to do that. When we went to Yachtsman, we put on nicer clothes (I had flippy heels on and DH was in khakis and nice shoes), but when we went in Ohanas he put on a polo and jeans, I put on a skirt and top.

we usually get dolled up for dinner....:) whether it be park fare or the nicer resort restaurants........

We'll get dressed up for V&A's and will go a little less fancy for the California Gr. Other than that, what you see is what you get.

Well--I wore a coat and tie thru 4 years of college and 35 years of work. So the LAST thing I want to do is get dressed up for dinner -either here at home,or especially when on vacation at WDW. So for me, it's almost always nice shorts and a brand new Disney T at every restaurant other than V&A.
We're clean and fresh and well-behaved. But definately in shorts!!
