Friends of ours always take a break mid-day to go back to their hotel, rest, shower and dress up a bit for dinner. We, on the other hand, pretty typically show up in whatever we've been wearing in the parks that day. With that said, we aren't hitting signature restaurants.

So I'm wondering, when you go to a TS meal for dinner, do you "dress"?

Haven't ever been to any of the restaurants that require a specific "dress code"... but for plain old regular TS meals, we just go in what we have been wearing around the parks that day. I'm not one to dress in ripped or revealing clothes anyway, but jeans and a Tshirt or blouse to a TS meal is fine IMO.

If we happen to have taken an afternoon break (and we almost always do) we'll generally change into fresh clothes for dinner. Though if we happened to be in the park for the full day, we wouldn't think twice about dining in "park clothes" unless it was a more upscale dinner.

We're in the minority I'm sure but we always go back to our resort, shower, have a cocktail and then head out for dinner. Don't necessarily "dress up" unless it's a signature restaurant.:goodvibes

We will never do a signature meal at Disney because we don't want to have to go back to room and get dressed up. We are on vacation and I don't want to be taking extra clothes for a special dinner. If I want a special dinner, I have a ton of places to choose from in Chicago. We are very happy with the table service restaurants that don't require special attire.

Yes, we do go back to our room to shower and change clothes before going out for dinner.

I will never forget our last trip while dining at Narcoosies when a man walked by with his family and he just reeked with body odor.

There does not seem to be any enforcement of dress codes anymore except for V&As so we now dine off site for dinner or order room service.

Every day it's the same thing....swim in the afternoon, shower between 4-5pm, change, & off to our dinner ADR. But we don't wear extra nice clothes for dinner...just shorts (or jeans depending on the time of year) & our matching Disney tees.

The only time we wear something nicer than shorts & tees is when we have dinner at Shula's.

sometimes we do, sometimes we don't. We usually schedule one or two days to go back to the resort for a swim...on those days we usually change and dress up a bit for dinner. On other days when we stay in the park the entire day, we don't.

We got engaged at CRT several years ago. It was a surprise and I was not happy that this occured on a commando day, but what are you going to do. There we were in shorts and t-shirts for our engagement photos.

We always go back to the hotel and get ready before going to a TS instead of heading over straight from the parks.

Weekend trips we live in the parks so we show up with what we have on. For a longer trip we take pool breaks so we shower and get spiffed up before dinner

Relaxing, family dinners are one of our favorite things about vacation. For us, this includes showering & dressing for dinner. We wouldn't enjoy the meal nearly as much if we were hot & sweaty. We can experience that at lunch. ;)

Generally we have a mid afternoon break to swim which allows us time to freshen up for most meals. I may throw back on the same park clothes (if it hasn't been too hot and we aren't going out for signature dining), but we've freshened.

Definitely not at park restaurants. A little freshening up in the restroom is enough.

For resort restaurants, we usually do those on non-park days because it's easier. But if we are going from a park to a resort restaurant, no, we don't go back to the hotel room.

We comply with the dress code if there is one, but since you specifically mentioned non-Signature restaurants, that's not an issue. Even if it were a signature restaurant, that would just mean possibly bringing an extra shirt or something.

Every day, we wear clothes that fit the bill for a signature restaurant, so we don't ever change just for dinner. We just go right from the park to the restaurant.

We can do this, because we go at the less-hot, less-rainy times of year. :)

we never dress for a TS other than Narcoosees - and even then, it's just a nice top and skirt for me, collared shirt and nice jeans for DH

If I wear Shorts and a Tshirt to Sunday Morning service (and I do) then I definitely wouldn't dress up for Disney.

We've never done a signature dining before. Neither of us wants to dress up while we're on vacation so we go to places that are okay with shorts and t-shirts.

I clicked sometimes because I didn't know the definition of "dress." We will just about always shower before dinner. Like others said, to wipe off the day. But we just put on new shorts that we'll probably wear tomorrow. We have gone to Cali Grill a couple times so that requires something nice. We know they won't reject you, but we feel better "dressing" for that restaurant.

As a kid, DH's family went commando. They would start in the morning and get in the car at night and drive home (to Chicago). I convinced him showering before dinner was a good thing. It was okay to stop moving for an hour. We first went in a horrifically hot June. He wanted to commando through a day at IoA and then go to Emeril's in shorts. We got too wet on a water ride...he then agreed we could go back. We were glad we did. Now he HAS to shower before dinner. Maybe a sink rinse-off for a CS night, but not for TS.

We tend to usually take afternoon breaks and if it is hot I usually wind up showering and changing... but I really only "dress" up for sig meals (capris, skirts, sundresses nicer sandals).

We usually do a TS for lunch and dinner and wear what we wear to the parks. When we went to Jiko last summer, we dressed in slightly dressier park clothes. We dress pretty nice to begin with, but still docker type shorts, shirts with collars, etc.
