So I was watching a TV Commercial by a local furniture store encouraging people to donate blankets to give to the needy for the holidays.
And just about everyone knows about the famous Salvation Army ringers at every mall and store, and Toys for Tots.

So,do you donate for the Holidays?
If so,what do you donate?

I did Operation Christmas Child this year. You fill a shoebox with non-perishable items and then send it to a boy or girl (your choice). I did a girl who was 2-4 years of age. :)

I donate pillows, money, food, socks, blankets, and jackets to a nearby homeless shelter.
I donate to a lot of the Salvation Army people because if I don't I feel bad.

Oh that sounds SOO Awesome.
I would do it if we had that around here.

We do the food drive for the food pantry around here through school.
Toys for Tots is also through school.
I also donate any spare change or dollars I have if I'm passing one of the Salvation Army workers ringing the bell.
I don't know if this would count as donating or not,but we also send care packages to the soldiers in Iraq for the holidays.

ETA:All our old clothes go to the SA,though I don't know if they give them to people for the holidays.
Back in elementary school,we would donate hats, scares, gloves, etc. and hang them on a Christmas Tree and see how many trees we could fill up.
Everything would go to charity.

I did it through a club here at school. I've done it before. I put my pic inside it, along with my address and the little girl will hopefully 'write' back to me!! i think its awesome giving to the needy.

My mom's work donates for the "Toys for Tots"
And they also make a basket filled with toys and stuff for kids. I'm not sure if its Operation Christmas Child, though.

No OCC, gives to kids in 3rd world countries, like Guatemala, ect. :)

We have an "Angel Tree". Basically it's a big tree in the mall where there's little cards posted about different children that are in christmas need. We always do a boy and a girl.

My mom also always gets the christmas info of two foster kids to buy some christmas for.

We put money in those bell ringer bucket thingies whenever we remember too.

Uhm...that's it I think. :)

That's cool.
I'll definitely look for it next year, when I can actually get out of the house whenever I want.

I definitely think it's awesome to give to the needy.
I know if I were one of the needy,I would certainly hope someone would donate something for me.

You really can't resist giving the Salvation Army Santas some of your change.
We give nonperishable foods to our school, and they give it away.
My mom also sets out our old clothes and donates them to the church.

My old school used to do the box thing, but instead of food it was toys. And we'd send clothes.
Last year we raised money for a local group that helps parents get toys for their kids.
This year my school has stuff going, but I'll probably just donate to the toy drive in the mall.

I do. I donate money, clothes, canned foods, ect...

But when i get christmas gifts, my mom always buys me small clothes, so i donate thoughs instead of returning them.

why have more when people dont have any?
