Do you DIS when you don't have a trip coming up?

I don't know if I'm qualified to answer this question since I always have a trip coming up. :cool1: But I won't let that stop me from answering. :goodvibes

I DIS because I like the people and the subject. For me its fun to chat with the folks and to pass along my experience, as well as to learn from other people's experience. :surfweb:

Jeff you took my answer. I too seem to always have a trip in the planning stages.

I DIS regularly for much longer than I have been posting.

I DIS and listen to the podcast whether I have a trip planned or not. I don't like ending my vacation without another trip to look forward too, so I usually have another booked anyway.

Another who is on the DIS and listens to the podcast regardless of a trip being planned :)

I keep reading and listening. Not sure why... it sure would be nice if I always had a trip coming up!

Well, technically, you do always have another trip coming up assuming you are one day coming back to WDW. For some folks, it is just the when part in question. That is what makes The Dis so great (and yes Tonya, it is a verb too!) If you are always keeping up to date on the info, it doesn't make it so difficult to plan your vacation later. At least that is how you can explain it if you needed to tell someone who just doesn't understand why you DIS even when you don't know when your next trip is. :)

well, my Disney trip is not for a loooong time yet, but since i'm new to the whole thing, listening to the DIS is helping me gather knowledge and plan my trip, albeit slowly.

also, i like listening to the DIS at night before i go to sleep. it's a nice way to relax... the dulcet tones of Pete on a rant... :lmao:

Im DISing all the time (since may) and im not really on here because of an upcoming trip, I am on here because I am in love (obsessed) with all things Disney

Thanks for the explanation. I am just planning my "next trip", over a year away! Doesn't help that the person I live with, my family, and friends do not understand why I am going again!

Silly girl, that is why you have us! Full circle, back to why the Dis is so great - other than the info is the people who understand our passion for all things Disney. You'll never have to explain it to any of us, promise.

I always DIS, mainly b/c ever since 2005, we've always had a trip coming up.

I didn't listen to podcast/read podcast boards around cruise time. I really wanted to go, couldn't b/c I'm a teacher and really kind of......hurt.....b/c I couldn't be there. I couldn't bear to hear everyone talking about how much fun they had.

I listen to Disney podcasts everyday at work and by the end of the day, I'm ready to throw my computer out the window and hitchhike to the parks lol

If I saw you with your thumb out by the side of the road, I'd pick you up!

I DIS all the time as well! While we travel to WDW at least once a year, visiting here makes it seem like we are somehow always in touch with "The World". :goodvibes

It's one of the ways I keep the post Disney\not at Disney blues away! :lmao:

Absolutely. It is like a little fix to feed my addiction. It helps me pass the time until the next trip and keeps me informed of any changes occuring. :surfweb:

I thought we may go again in 2010, but I don't think it's going to happen. It's OK though, the podcasts and the DIS boards get me through, and I live vicariously through all the people who are able to visit the world. I listen and/or go onto the DIS every day, and that gets me my Disney fix! :thumbsup2

I listened to the PodCast even when I didn't have a trip planned. I wouldn't look forward to driving to work if I didn't have a podcast to entertain me. Hey..I listen to news from around the world when I am not a world traveler, I will listen to news from the World when I don't have a trip planned there either :)
I do take breaks from the boards, but never very long. That only tends to happen if I read a few threads that are depressing or argumentative. But I soon find my way back to the 'happier' threads.

Sure do.

I like Disney and prefer to keep track of what's going on so I don't have as much new stuff to weed through when I am planning a trip. Plus I like helping people out by answering their questions when I know the answer.

In all honesty, I'm a fair-weathered friend :guilty:

If I don't have a trip coming up, I'm already depressed so I TRY TRY TRY not to watch Disney movies, listen to Disney music/podcasts, or go on the Dis. Thank God 99% of time I'm planning my next trip or I'd go loopy!! :lmao:

I haven't been to WDW since 1999 (poor, pitiful me) and I listen to the podcast and read the boards religiously.

It lightens my days and makes my 1 hour + commute into NYC (and back) much easier.

Thank you technology gods, for creating iPods!

Lord help you Susan!!! Since 1999 :scared1:!!! We leave in 22 days, you can come along with us! I bet we could get about 500 DiSers to each donate $1 for this cause!!! :wizard:
