Do you DIBB ? (Can I ask that?)

I'm registered on three Dis, Dibb and Passporter;)::yes:: I know my name is Wifey and I'm a plan-aholic :guilty::p

I've just got to get as much info as possible before we go on our holiday and I like to be sociable too and share the little details and sweet things I've learned over the last few years. They all make a trip come together perfectly and if I can help anyone in any way I'm happy. Goodness knows how we used to do it all before the invention of internet access to WDW info:thumbsup2

post on another board ...:scared1: (gasp)

no seriously i have looked over there, i agree that its turnover is big there, seem to have a lot of people who only post once over there where as here most come back, or wed like to think, im a member there too same screename (im original me ) but think my post count is like 3 or something .

Did recently post over there about possibly buyng a villa as there seem to be more owners over there who have been and done it, but didnt get many replies and by the afternoon my thread had been moved and lost under other random posts..

I had a baby so not planning on travelling to orlando for a few years - not heard of the other forum. so not recession related else i would going and doing loads of planning.

Totally agree with Wayne - we've been on the other place for a while now under DW's username, but the main reason I've now registered over here is because people just don't seem to bother reading anything over there. Multiple threads appear on an almost daily basis about the same subjects, and I find myself posting a reply containing a link to other threads with the same subject. Contentious, possibly, but it does get annoying. There also seems to be no elitism here. Not sure I can say the same about over there.

I spotted some visitors last year in MouseGear wearing DIBB lanyards. I went across to speak to them. All was fine until I mentioned that I was a member of DIS,:banana::banana: from then onwards the conversation was quickly ended and we went our seperate ways. :rotfl: If that is the kind of welcome from DIBB members...........I know where I'm better off :thumbsup2

Have rented a villa from one of their advertisers for the first time this year, will let you know how it goes. Prefer this forum though :)

Not been there for nearly 4 years. Much nicer here and on other sites as well :)

Claire ;)

Much the same for me. I still lurk there but I don't post as I found it a little confrontational and cliquey.

I used to look in on there and post occasionally - I hated it - very confrontational and there seemed like there were some real nasty folk on the boards. Much happier here :goodvibes:thumbsup2

im a disser through and through, i have no time for any other sites ( except facebook :rotfl2:)

Just joined there in the last few days infact (same username). Six and a half dozen for me, not really been here or there long enough :)

I'm a Dibb lurker as some of their posts scare me - too argumentative for Disney! I prefer the Dis:goodvibes

I have been on there and read some of the threads recently however I find it very cliquey and they get easily worked up and argumentative over things. Some of which are silly. I feel the Disboards espcially the UK section is more of a community then the Dibb,
The great thing about Disboards UK is that loads of people have made friends in real life however these people don't exclude other people because they are real life friends with other dissers and they haven't turned it into there own personal chat board.

I have been a member of the Dibb for a while but I rarely post there now. To be honest they can get a bit snipey if you don't agree with them and so I haven't posted for quite a while now. You can find out quite a lot from their planning boards though if you trawl through them.

Same here. I have been a member of both for many years but never post there anymore.

I am a member of both, been here longer but have more posts over there- I agree that there seems to be a lot of biting over there, recently- there was a big warning about how to report posts and not to bite, does not seem to have worked. Its def nicer here and you get to see the same names all of whom seem knowledgable and exprenced in Orlando and florida. Over there it seems to be the first time holiday maker who posts exactly the type of threads as others so its really repetitive- theres probalby 4 or 5 fairfx threads going on at the moment!

I think the reason why I tend to post more over there is that there are more forums, either way im not a big poster on either.

I do read and post on both but I stick to Trip Planning, Trip Reports and Chat & News over there, occasionally having a browse around the other boards. I do hate the way that 50% of the threads over there have "Moved" next to them where they have been moved to another board.

I'm a member of both (and one other), but always use DIS when planning as like Wayne says, it's more friendly and not so argumentative.;)

As for why I haven't been on for a while, well I'm not going to Disney this year!
We're away to Turkey in a fortnight and when we get back, it will be into full planning mode for the easter trip next year.:thumbsup2 It will be less than 8 months to go!
The better half reaches a milestone birthday in February, so I'm hoping I can get a deal on some business class seats on the plane.

I used to post on there quite a lot, mostly in the run up to our 2007 trip but since I don't share the 'Dibb popular opinion' (i'm sure some of you know what I mean...) on many issues I didn't feel like it was the forum for me after our trip had ended and I wasn't actively planning another. Once I started posting more regularly on here I felt much more 'at home' and I wish i'd started doing so sooner :goodvibes I feel as if there is more of a community on the UK boards here and people seem to be much more respectful of other's opinions. I still go on there occassionally but the atmosphere, while not nasty by any means, just feels a little passive aggressive to me :scared:

I'm a member of both, but have been on the dis for many years more and have made many more posts on here. I tend to stick to the trip planning thread on there. The other boards do seem a little cliquey like others have said.
