Do you commonly book home resort and "switch"?

I plan to do a split stay this coming June, to try out a different DVC. We own at BLT so at the 11 month mark I booked the 8 nights since we love it there and would be happy 8 nights if we couldn't make the change we want. At 7 months I called Member Services and made the change over the phone, it was not difficult and didn't take a long time. We will now be doing 4 nights at AKL and the switching to our home BLT for the remaining 4 nights. This was my first time doing a split stay change and it went well.

I can't bring myself to do split stays. At least not unless I am booking either side of DCL or something where I already have to pack up. It seems like too much of a disruption to pack all my bags again and move them and check out and check in. I would rather be relaxing somewhere!
