Do you cheat?

As I go through my pictures of my Disney trips, there are always pictures that I wish I would have gotten. I can usually find the picture that I am looking for on some sort of Disney website. I sometimes save the picture to my computer and think that I may use it in my scrapbook, but when it comes down to printing it out, I almost feel as if I am cheating by using a picture that is not actually mine. (now these are just your basic resort pictures that anyone could have taken, and usually simple stuff that I myself don't think about). So I guess thats what repeat trips are for. After all, wheres the fun in making a scrapbook if you get all the "perfect" pictures the first time around, right?

Does anyone else feel they want to, or have used pictures off the internet because they forgot to take one of their own of a specific thing?

I lost most of my cruise pi ictures from last year :(

Thanks to the wonderful people at the DIS and internet photos, though, I was able to get most of what I wanted. Even some that I did not have to begin with. That's not cheating, it's using all of the thools you have to the best of your ability! ;)

I'll fess up to this one. I've used "ride" photos...ie goofy's barnstormer, and the photos people get at the fireworks are amazing so I have saved some of those to use in my scrapbook. I guess I feel a little like it's cheating, but it's for my family to see, not the world, so i don't feel as guilty. I can't remember to take a picture of EVERYTHING...although i certainly do try. :earboy2:

I use them alot. For the Alaska book I just finished I added post cards and cutousts from different sources. I think they add to the overall "look" I am going for on certain pages. I dont use them on every page, most times they are like a background piece for me.

I have done it a few times. DD hates when I do it, she says it's cheating. But I figure if I actually saw the ride/show/event, but I got lousy pictures, it is not really cheating! I used a few "borrowed" pictures for our 2002 WDW book. One photo of SpectroMagic, and one or two photos of Fantasmic. That was all. Those things are just tough to take pictures of... so if someone else got a better one than me, I feel justified in using theirs! I don't feel at all bad about it. Isn't the idea to help us and our children and their children "remember" and learn about our lives? This will enable future generations to "see" and understand our trips better. So what's the harm?....P

I used several postcards for the Safari ride in a WDW book. The WDW pros are in the right spot, standing still rather than on a moving tram, and at the time of day when the animals are out. Most of them I had a photo of - and you could see the animal if you used a magnifying glass!

I have actually never thought of doing that but if I saw a good picture that I really wanted I might do it.

Meranda-
Wow, I like your wedding date :) I was married on 9/18 too, only in 1999 ;) I always wanted a Disney wedding but we had free round trip airline tickets to Hawaii so we got married at home and had our honeymoon there instead. But you better believe I have our 10 year annivesary planned for vow renewal at Disney :teeth:

Not only do I do it, but I say in the journaling that I 'did it' and where (or from whom) I got the picture!

I've used postcards, but I hadn't thought of using pictures. I might need to, especially for those rides that are difficult to photograph. Like Indiana Jones. Dd rode it for the first time last month at Disneyland, but do I have a picture?

I did this recently when I found out that the balloons were gone in the land pavillion. I loved looking at those balloons and when we went in December they were already down. A friend of mine sent me all of her Mickey statue pictures so that I can use them as a title page for my album once also.

Yikes! Just realized I cheated on my signature! :scared1: Please don't turn me in to the DIS police! ;) I have a couple pictures of Red Wing Mickey, but it's night time and I'm in them.

Nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the heading of this thread. I was thinking "Cheating - on the Mickey Boat - with little kids around?!?!?!?". Glad to see it wasn't that kind of cheating.
:rolleyes1

And I thought I was the only one......... :rotfl:

For some reason I just can't get good shots of the fireworks....so to all of you who can....THANK YOU!!! :worship:

Altho I haven't used other pictures posted on different websites I do use the postcards ALL the time. Always have. I don't really feel like that is cheating tho. I bought the postcards w/the layout in mind to begin with. Also since
I'm a travel agent, I take advantage of all the brochures I have and use some of the pictures or phrases in different albums---making sure all the time I don't use them on pages with pictures.

I do that every now and then, because you can't always remember to take the greatest picture. I also use postcards, brouchures, ads, etc.

When I went on the Magic in November, we all shared our pix online thru Shutterfly and also emailed some things to each other....so it was great to get pix of things that I missed or that others just had better photos!

OT - Tink, I hope to be at Disneyland on May5th, too!
