Do you carry extra outfits for the day?

My girls are 4 & 6.

Occasionally my youngest has an accident so I was planning on carrying an extra pair of undies and bottom for her.

My husband thinks I should carry a full outfit for both. I just think I'll take the chance. I don't want to carry it all day. Usually we leave it in the car but we are flying and have no rental car.

That's what the park lockers are far (if you don't mind paying the fee).

I carried full outfits on our first trip (DS2 and DNiece5 at the time), but now I carry only an extra shirt if anything. I will carry a full outfit if they are wearing costumes. They are now 4 and 7.

My kids are 4 and 5. When my DS was potty training, I brought the undies and shorts like you. Now, they are fine all day with no extra clothes.

If they like to play in the water play areas in the parks, I would definitely bring extra clothes. My girls got drenched every single time.

I packed both of their clothes in a zip top bag, so that when the wet clothes went in, they wouldn't mess up anything else in our backpack. And we didn't pack anything bulky. A small plain tank top, cotton shorts, & panties for each of them. Didn't weigh much, or take up much room at all.

Nope not at those ages. I didn't bring anything. When they were 2 or 3 I would bring and extra pair of undies and the lightest, thinnest shorts I could roll into a sandwich size zip lock bag and put into my purse.

I figured the chances of them needing clothes after 3 were so slim that if they really needed something I could buy it because the chances were not worth carrying anything with me. Just so you know my DD is now 18 so that is a lot of years of taking a chance and my DS is almost 12 and I have NEVER had to use the extra clothes or buy anything when I quit carrying them.

You bet we do! Granted, our kids are 3 & 4 so it's mainly in case of potty accident, spilling food all over themselves, etc..... Plus, if it's hot or they play in the water we can swap out their clothes. I know it's petty but i want great disney pics - don't want a bid mustard stain across their shirt!

The first time we went DS3 was not even 2 yet so of course I packed stuff for him in our diaper bag. Little did I know that I should have packed something for DS9 who was 6 (almost 7). Let's just say he got a bit too excited on a ride and needed a change of clothing! Then, on our last trip, (DS was 8) he got very ill, very quickly, without ANY warning! :scared1: Disney has made a lot of $ off of us in this area. The irony is, my youngest has never needed a change of clothing yet! Next trip I will most certainly be bringing extras - thank goodness for strollers!

Once my kids stopped having the nasty baby poop explosions at about 6 months, we stopped carrying around extra clothes.

I only make sure everyone takes along an extra outfit when we go to Animal Kingdom ... Kali River Rapids gets you pretty soaked! I know, I know ... I need to invest in some ponchos.

I was always the "bag lady" on previous trips - Everyone piled their gear into one bag that I had to schlep everywhere. The new rule is if you bring it, you must bring along a bag to carry it in.

Since we previously have done the parks in February, everyone starts out the day in sweatshirts with layers underneath.

Park locker or invest in a comfy backpack that you or DH can wear (so clothes are easily accessible should the need arise and not have to trek to the front of the park).

 That's the only reason I ever bring extra shirts (aside from the costume thing). Water doesn't bother me, but I'd hate to have the kids stained. Very Kate Gosselin of me, but I feel ya!! The water, not such a big deal for us. The kids were SOAKED when they met Ariel, which makes sense, ya know, under the sea. ;)

I'll probably stop carrying anything when we don't use a stroller, though. I'll either have to start having babies who need one or stop caring about dirty shirts. :rotfl:

I bring an extra outfit for all of my kids. I have them in ziploc bags and squeeze as much air out of it as possible and put it in the bottom of our backpack. It doesn't take up much room. Last trip, DD was still in diapers, so I had to have the bag with me. This year, I won't have to have a bag, but I will still bring one with me...to hold the extra outfits, ponchos, autograph books, camera, snacks, etc. We will still have a stroller, so I can toss it all in the bottom of the stroller. I would rather be safe than sorry. We have never had to use our spare outfits for our oldest two, but I still bring them along just in case.

I carried a spare pair of pants for my kids, who were 4, 4, and 6 at the time, and wore about the same size.

I brought an extra outfit. The thinnest pair of shorts and t-shirt plus a pair of underwear, in a zip loc bag with all the air squished out of it. It took up hardly any room, and we didn't end up needing it, but I'd rather always have it than not. I had a backpack I was carrying all day anyway.

We just got back from WDW last week and our first day I did carry an extra pair of shorts and undies for DS3, but after that I didn't. We never needed it and it was just taking up extra room in my bag. :goodvibes

No way! And, as for the lockers, they're out of the way and expensive.

In four trips with kids I've only needed more clothing once...last summer when our log got swamped on Splash. We were soaked from the waist down. I stopped in a store and got my younger son a pair of sweats (it was cool in CA) and a pair of socks for each of us.

I'd rather buy something in an emergency rather than haul stuff....unless you have a stroller, lol! Then, haul away!
