Do you buy new underwear and socks for vacation?

Well, when it's time for new undies & socks, DH & I head to WalMart together. Not sure why, but we always buy new undies & socks too for WDW trips --- but not for other trips.

Charlie.... I still remember one of your posts from couple of years ago. You came home to a drawer full of new socks & underwear -- and posted it on here. You just couldn't wait to find out if if meant you were doing to WDW. I told my DH about your new undies....and he instantly asked if you were going to WDW.

See.....it's a world wide known fact. New undies = WDW trip!

. I'm just paranoid that TSA is going to open our bags up in front of everyone & someone's old underwear will come flying out of the bag so everyone in the terminal can see them

I have that same feeling!!

And I bought all of us new undies and socks for our trip. It's the only time, I buy dh's underwear. (otherwise, he's on his own )

Hmmmmm.... maybe there is something to this New Undies = WDW trip.

But yes, I do buy new underwear and socks for all of us before vacation. It just seems to work out that we need new underwear and socks at the same time we happen to be going away. LOL

For our big trips yes we buy new, goes back to when I was much younger and my mom always got us new. We almost always go shopping together so buying it is joint venture.

I have about 8 pairs of Disney socks that I collected over the years that I only wear to WDW.

It must be a vacation thing...I buy both myself and hubby new underwear and socks right before vacation. In fact, I got his underwear two weeks ago and he put the sealed package in his drawer...according to him, it didn't feel right to open it before vacation.

Even though I'm grown and married, my mom still reminds me about the "clean underwear" rule.

Sometimes I buy new underwear but I don't buy new socks, I hate socks and never wear them, even in the winter.

New Shoes need breaking in or your feet get all sore and covered with blisters.



I am not an expert on underwear but I do have some first hand experiance (well not hand per se but youget the idea.). Not as much experiance as that old 'bunching up underwear' thread would lead you to beleive but there aren't too many people around who remember that little thread so best to leave it.

However one can extrapolate from one's feild. Based on this I fear what new "U"s could do to you, unless you like a vacation where your general underwear region gets all sore and blistery.

Just bought all new undies and socks for everyone last week. Partly, for vacation but mostly so we're ready for the new school year when we get back from our trip.

DH never buys his own underwear or socks (and never throws the old ones away either).

I have been known to buy new, thick, cotton socks for WDW. If anyone else in the family wants some, I get them some too. I like to have thick absorbent socks to "soak up" sweat as opposed to thin, threadbare, cotton socks for all that walking.

Sheees....then I would just let him wear them until they were to hley for him to even wear...then I bet he would go buy his own underwear!!
