Do you bring your purse to WDW?

And if you do, do you carry it on you when you go on rides? I have a pretty big purse that I can wear across my shoulders so I thought it would be good to bring to the parks in order to carry snacks and drink bottles. But it just dawned on me, what do I do with it when I go on rides? I wouldn't want to leave it on the ground because my wallet will be in it too. Would you suggest a smaller purse and then a backpack or something like that? I am trying to avoid the latter idea so I am not overpacking.

On big rides there are places to put your bag in front of you or in Soarin', under your seat. I didn't take my purse, but took a small clear backpack & never had a problem.

I always carry a bag with all the stuff I will need for the park and I also have a small bag like purse that I carry abound the front of me that holds my tickets, key to the world card and a few dollars. never had a problem.

I use a medium sized sling sack because I like to have my essentials with me, and it's a little more rugged than a purse. I've never had a problem on any ride at WDW. You can usually keep it at your feet if the bag compartment is too small no the ride. I have done this numerous times on Splash, Big Thunder, Space, RnR, ToT, EE, TT, Dinosaur -- it fits in compartment on Mission Space and Soarin. Never had a problem.

Be advised that at Universal/Islands of Adventure, for the big rides, they force you to put the bag in a locker -- so I leave it in the car (and simply miss my things for a while). But my Universal time is limited, so it isn't a big deal to me. Universal does offer limited time free lockers while you are on a big ride and pay lockers if you wish.

Bagless for me- put everything in the many pockets of my cargo pants/shorts. Don't have to do bag check, never worry obout forgetting it, and we are good to go!

No purse. I bring a Baggallini messenger bag I bought just for the touring the parks. It even has a little zippered compartment in the strap to put my room key.

We take a small backpack to hold all the water bottles/camera/etc. Never have a problem on rides, there's space at your feet to put them, or a small compartment. The only time I had trouble was when I took a HUGE messenger bag, and had it on Space Mountain. It fit in the space between my leg and the car, but I was so scared of losing it I held tight to the strap the whole time. We pack a bit lighter now.

I do bring a purse, but not a nice leather one, etc... I bring one with a long enough strap to sling over my shoulder, something basic with a few pockets like this for example:

I store it as mentioned above... either at my feet, or in the small bag holder on rides. Hubby generally carries a hydration pack with storage for the SLR and he keeps that at his feet... we've never had issues,

nope no more purses or bags of any kind.....since its just the 2 of us again....dh wears cargo shorts and keeps what little we need, in the pockets! but as others have mentioned there are places on some some of the attractions to keep small purses/fanny packs/bags with you....

No purse. I use a small backpack for my phone, camera, and waterbottle. The rest of the family is responsible for their own stuff.

I dont bring my purse. I bought a Disney backpack a few years ago and I always use that. I can fit my jacket if I need one and I keep my money, id, and tickets in a little clear zip bag inside so it easy to find. My sister brought her bag to Disney and it was so annoying it was too big to fit into the holders on rides and it started to rain and it was ruined.

we just use a small sport sling bag (i've heard them called soccer sacks - the straps are actually the drawstring for the bag itself)
its perfect because we can both carry it, rather than making bf carry a purse ;) and its light and floppy.

the real reason we even carry a bag is for sunscreen - we both tan easily, but once the burns start it ruins a trip for us.

But there are little mesh baskets on a lot of the rides to put your bags in. I can't imagine doing Disney without a bag, I'm impressed by those who do it!

The six flags in Chicago makes you put ALL bags in a locker before even getting into lines for each ride - and each locker costs a dollar. its ridiculous! I wish all theme parks would follow disney's example of things ;)

I don't carry my normal purse in the parks, but I do have a baggallini that I love!

On our quick weekend trip last month, we didn't plan to go to the main parks at all so I didn't pack a different bag besides my purse. At the last minute on our final day we decided to spend the day at Epcot before our ME bus came. I hated carrying my purse around the park, and definitely missed my baggallini.

No I do not, but I do take a backpack.

I take a variety of purses. Last trip I took two different type Vuitton bags but I only used them at night when I knew we were going to dinner and I wouldn't be carrying them for 10+ hours. Since they have light leather, I don't ever risk them getting wet, and trying to pay attention to that all day is an annoyance that doesn't really have to be.

In the parks I bring either a nylon drawstring Nike backpack, since it's super lightweight and water-resistant, and I can wipe off spills in a second. I also don't feel bad/nervous if I have to put it under the seat/in a holder/etc. Sometimes if I'm particularly nervous or the ride is rough I'll put my foot through the straps (RnRC). On these rides I also knot the straps at the very top so the bag won't open, but I've never had an issue with that, it's more preventative!

I also use my Gucci beltbag, which is pretty much a fanny pack but styled a bit differently. It has two rectangular front pouches, one zippered & one Velcro. It holds a surprising amount! It also has a back pocket than runs the length of the bag and is absolutely perfect for cards/tickets/cash/a few keys/receipts. I don't use a wallet with this one, since I can keep it all back there and right against my person. I like the belt bag personally, as it snaps on and I never ever have to worry about it falling off, setting it down and forgetting it, etc. If I go on a ride I think the Velcro might be compromised, I take what's in there and put it in the zippered portion against my belly. I love love LOVE that I never ever have to take this off on a ride, I just seatbelt over it! It's big enough to hold my iPhone, digital camera, a few tubes of lip balm/lipstick, a small portable sunscreen, face powder (I don't carry this in Disney though!), hair ties, etc. It really does hold a ton! It was expensive, especially for a glorified fanny pack, but I really get so so much use of it that it's already paid for itself. Not having something hanging on your back in the extreme Florida heat is a blessing!

My rule of thumb is the lighter the better - at the end of a long Disney day, what is ounces feels like pounds!

Haaa, nice to see a fellow Vuitton lover here (you're making me want to visit my usual TPfer forum). Myself however, would not think of bringing any of my Vuitton bags... I just baby them too much. I am planning on bringing a large coach Zoe bag because I can shoulder carry it or sling it across my shoulder like a messenger. A backpack would be nice but bringing a backpack too would be over packing for me. I am glad to hear that there is a spot for your bag on rides. I have been to DW but I had a small pack with me then and couldn't remember what the rides were like as far as storage for packs go.

Oh my...tPF is my downfall!! I only take my Neverfull and Speedy to WDW, along with my LV wallet. The rest stay home, partially because I refuse to pack them at all and carry them on! I fold Speedy into my Neverfull! I think that Zoe bag sounds wonderful. My girlfriends and I used those swingpacks before, and they also were perfect - perfect size, weight, and the cross-body option was great! I too have to stop myself from overpacking my little backpack. Twice I made the mistake of taking Speedy to the parks and my left arm was useless for like, five days after from the strain! One of these times was an unplanned trip to DL (long story), but since you're on tPF, I trust you not to find me too unusual when I say this, but I actually seatbelted my Speedy into the Matterhorn. The CM definitely thought I had issues! I actually asked him "do you think my purse will be alright?" He tried not to smile and was like "um...well, it looks like you've got it in there pretty tight, so..."

Also, since I'm at it, I love that you're Canadian!! I love Canada (but have never been). I interned in the NHL for quite a while and have a pretty large soft spot for any Canadians I come across, especially if you're named Sidney Crosby... :lovestruc
