I was just wondering if anybody else brings their own pillows from home. I want to, but don't want everyone looking at me like I'm crazy. I just can't sleep on other pillows. I usually bring it when we go on beach vacations. I'm also thinking of bring a couple of blankets for the beds as well. Does anybody else do this?

Pillow-always! I have allergies and don't want to take any chances. Blankets-never have-you can always get more at the resort if you need them.

You are not crazy. I pack my pillow and my 6 year old dd's.
I do no sleep well without mine and my daughter has had problems in other hotels with allergies to the detergents they use. So if you have the room to pack them go for it!

Yes -- I bring mine and my kids' pillows every time! We all sleep much better on our own pillows:cloud9:

Yes, since we drive from NJ pillows are a must in the car. I also usually try to buy the kids a new Disney pillowcase for the trip.

I never used to bring my own pillow, but after a couple trips where my neck got particulary sore, and I couldn't enjoy some of the rides, I finally broke down and now my pillow gets packed in my suitcase every trip. I'm just so afraid I'll forget to bring it home again!

i sometimes bring my pillow, most recently - have been packing a fresh washed pillowcase ( or 2 epending on trip length)
so i dont have to have that extra "pillow" room in my suitcase....
btw, i only bring the above items because i cannot sleep on any pillow that does not smell fresh and clean...never stayed at WDW resort before, but every hotel i have stay at before, the laundry smells like bleach and is not soft

We usually all bring a pillow, we have driven the past two times and we pack them in the truck, I have a bad neck and I just do better with my own pillow, I don't want to take the chance of my neck going out because then I get horrible headaches I just can't get rid of!
You bring your pillows::yes::

If I have my own pillow I can sleep anywhere...I did purchase some airtight plastic storage bags that removes all the air from the pillows...takes them down to about a inch in width...great for transporting them in luggage.

My pillow is like the American Express. Can't leave home without it! My problem is still that I can't ever sleep the first night on vacation! Not sure why, just can't!

Wherever we go, we always bring our own pillows if we're driving. That means 4 pillows for 4 people plus 1 body pillow for me.

This time, since we're flying, I'm thinking of 2 options:

1. Bring pillows but space bag them
or
2. Not bring pillows and just ask for extra pillows at the resort.

Still on the fence on this issue, especially since we're also bringing a fan!

We always bring our own pillows. Doesn't matter if we drive or fly. And I too take the extra pillowcases. Never take blankets but I did ask for extras during our Dec '03 visit when it was so cold!!!

I always bring my favorite pillow with me. This year, we bought the space saver bags, so my husband won't go crazy trying to pack my pillow in with the rest of our things.

When we drove I brought our own pillows. Now that we fly, the pillows stay at home!

Guilty as charged! We always bring our own pillows! We sleep so much better with them! Don't want to end up waking up with a family of Grumpys because no one could sleep! I don't like pillows that are as hard as rocks!

It's not crazy for wanting to get a good nights sleep! Rather look like I am  than wake up everyday stiffy and sore!

I say bring the pillows! You won't be sorry!

Okay, so we are definately bringing our pillows. They will be great in the car also.

Lisa, where do you usually buy your disney pillowcases from? Can you buy just the pillowcase? Thanks.

Sharon

I bring my pillow when we drive, but when I fly, not enough room - (even tho I now know they have those plastic bags that the vacuum can suck the air out... nawww)

However, when we stayed at the Poly, the first night was like sleeping on a soft rock - - so I went to the front desk and asked if they had feather pillows - AND THEY DID!!! And it made all the difference - they were soft, yet firm, fluffy but ahhhhh

they worked for us!!

I think I win the prize for "best try at humiliating myself". I sleep with a bodypillow. :p You KNOW my DH is a gem when you see him carrying in my pillow without a complaint. I love that man!:teeth:

Oh, and you are going to love WL at Christmas! :D

Oogieboogie.........I always bring a fan too (if it's for more than one night). Gotta have that air circulation and that white noise.

ash&abby'smom - I have found them in Walmart, Target, K-Mart or whoever happens to be carrying Disney merchandise at the time. I have even had some luck finding them at the outlet stores. Sometimes you can buy just the pillowcase but when my kids were small I would just buy the entire set. Now that they are older it is hard to find just pillowcases that are not too young. I might have to resort to Disney.com for this trip - guess I'd better hurry!
