Do you just bring a back up battery for the plane?

Huh?

I always bring my laptop--for me, airports and planes are great places to get work done. I do'nt have a back up battery, and try to find shore power in the airport whenever possible.

I don't quite understand your question either :confused3

I always have my laptop with me on the plane. On long flights it is great to get some work done or watch a dvd. It is also nice to have the heat from the computer as some warmth on colder flights!!! I don't have a backup battery but I always carry my power cord and I have and adapter that works on airlines.

I am going to take my laptop to disney with me. I dont have a back up battery. My laptop battery has a life of around 5 hours. It doesnt take that long to go from Pittsburgh to Orlando

I do bring my laptop when I travel amd no, I do not have or need a backup battery.

I bring mine with me, I don't feel comfortable checking my laptop, but don't bring anything extra to use onboard. Just use it until the battery dies and recharge at the next stop =) Many planes have outlets for you, as well.

I need it for my job so yes I take it everywhere with me. I have a "travel battery" that connects underneath and towards the back and is in the shape of a square c. It adds about 3 hours to the battery life. I also have a slim case that is easy to slip my laptop in and out of for security. Together with some slip-on shoes I'm through security - laptop, carry-on bag, etc. easy as you please!

I bring mine on the plane and when I watch a DVD power goes down faster so, yep, I just pop in the other battery.

Thanks..I guess that was part of my question. I had never had to bring a laptop on a plane before so I was just not sure about how to repower my battery. I didn't realize that I could use the adaptor on the plane( I am a little slow when it comes to this stuff :confused3 )

Most planes don't have plugs in coach, and a lot don't even have them in First.

Just be prepared for that.

I fly to Germany often and always watch DVD's during the flight. I have three extra batteries just for this purpose.

I have an extra battery in place of the DVD player and can get up to 9 hours. I always take my laptop while traveling for email and online working.

The only planes I know of that have power on the armrests are Airbuses. However, you need a special adaptor, it's not a regular plug. I've used my laptop in the airport while waiting for flights, it usually takes 2 hours to go down 50%. Be aware that it's hard to use your laptop if the person in front of you reclines.

Whatever you do, don't check your laptop. The airlines are not responsible for damage to electronic equipment.

I bring my laptop almost everywhere I go. I never use a backup battery as I have a micro laptop and it has a great deal of battery life.
