We are first time Disney cruisers and have heard drink prices
are costly. Do you ever bring on your own beer, wine , soft
drinks or bottled wateer? If so is it better to bring it in your
carry on or checked luggage?
You may carry it aboard. You should not put it in your checked luggage. I wouldn't bother carrying bottled water onboard again. The drinking water onboard is just fine, and I'm pretty picky about these things. I'd fill a couple bottles and keep them in the coldbox in my room.

We bring on wine and bottled water, I drink a TON of bottled water (and I'm picky about the taste) and we like to have a couple of bottles of wine to enjoy in the room. We don't bother with bringing sodas, I only drink one diet soda a day and my daughter doesn't drink them at all. You can certainly bring them if you'd like.
On our last cruise we didnt bring soda with us. This time my mom is going 2 get like a couple of 12 packs of soday. One for me and sis and another for her and dad. Do you just carry the soda on in the boxes they come in. Seems like a pain to walk through the ship with them. Any input
Cant wait till the cruise

We are not soda drinkers, so we typically bring a six-pack of bottled water. Once we have drank it all, we refill the bottles with "ship water" at the drink station. It tastes fine to me (but then again, I can drink well water so maybe I have a high tolerance!). For a change of pace from water, I also like to make fresh iced tea at the drink station by combining one of their flavored hot teas (black currant and mint are my two favorites) with a glass of ice. The ice tea served on the ship comes out of a tap rather than being fresh brewed, so that's why I like to make my own.

We found their wine to be resonably priced, instead of carrying it on the plane. One thing we did do on our last cruise was bring mini's with us. Little bottles of vodka we bought before our trip and they are now made of plastic. I just put them in double zip lock bags and we were set. The juice bar provided the perfect mixers.
About bringing soda. Do you have to carry it on. It would be pain to walk through the terminal and the ship with the boxes of soda. What should we do?

Matt,
Put the soda in your checked luggage. Consider dedicating one bag just for the soda, and pack cushioning around it, like an old blanket. Hardside luggage best.
not sure that you should really put drinks in checked luggage. If you are flying in, i believe that TSA says this is a no-no. You could use a small carry on with wheels maybe to carry on drinks.
We ordered a gift basket from Shirley and had it packed with beer, wine, and Brisk iced tea.
I also carried on a bottle of wine.
Next time we are sailing for two weeks back-to-back, and I think the plan is that we'll do the same thing for the first week, then on the second week we'll gte off when we get to the port (but leave all of our stuff in our stateroom (we've got the same room both weeks). We're going to rent a car from Avis, head to a Mailboxes, etc. and send anything we've bought and/or no longer want/need on board with us home, then tool around the area, stop at a liquor store for wine/beer as needed, maybe visit Shirley, and head back to the ship around 2:00pm so we can get on by 3:00. I'm hoping that I'll be able to make my spa appointments for week two during week one
We always use a small suitcase with wheels and cushion the soda and beer with a towel. Last year I cut down on the canned soda and took a couple of two-liter bottles. As an added bonus...you'll have an empty suitcase for hauling home all of your great bargains!

TSA discourages food/drink in checked luggage, but does not prohibit it. This is discussed at www.tsatraveltips.us in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
We are doing the back to back cruises thing this year too in October. We always bring wine from home but this time we are bringing on 4 or 5 cases of beer as well. It should be fun.
Thanks guys for answering my questions. We actually arent getting the soda until we get there, the limo driver is letting us stop at the grocery store. My mom is just going to bring a extra empty suit case and us that when we get there.
Thanks for your help
