HI- I was wondering if you guys bring a guide book with you. If so, which one? I plan on using tour guide mike, but i didn't know if a guide book would also be a good idea. Thank you!
I use TGM also, primarily for his excellent and right on 'best days/best parks' section. I also use and bring Passporter, primarily for the very handy organizational pockets in the back. I use the deluxe, get update each year plus a second set of pockets (2 trips most years). I leave the book on the desk in room, refer to the next day's activities (what park, whom I am meeting, where, etc) the night before. If I need to refer to something while there, the book is handy to have also. Works well for me.
I use TGM as well as Pass Porter, which I buy a new one for every trip. I just ordered my 2008 edition. I don't really need the guidebook part so much, but I like how I can keep everything organized in it. It's worth the $15 investment for me.
We don't usually bring one, but we are going in 9 days and my DS, 12, is bringing a book with clues to find many of the hidden Mickeys. We plan to write down all of the ones we find in the resorts.
This is my strategy, too. I use the UG to do research before my trip, then leave the book in my hotel room (I don't tote it around with me). I try to "travel light" when in the parks themselves.
I am using TGM for the first time this Christmas. I have printed out information and plan on taking it to the parks with me. That way I have a couple of sheets of paper instead of the whole book. I do plan on taking my UG and Passporter to read at night in the hotel(as if I don't know it cover to cover and still freaking about my touring plans).
I have sworn by The Ultimate Guide for several years now and consider it to me my bible for all things mouse and beyond.
I'll bring it with for quick reference purposes but find it to be way too think and heavy to be carrying around. They do produce a pcket sized version which would be more conducive for putting into a backpack, purse or fanny pack.

I bring the Passporter along with me, but I don't actually bring it to the parks. I just leave it at the resort, then fill out the passpockets each night.
The only touring stuff I bring to the parks is printed out touring plans from the UG website.
A great tool to have also is the eGuides To Go. I download the most current updates from Deb's and Steve's sites to my smartphone just before I head to FL. I use it often as a reference while in the parks, great, current restaurant and entertainment info at your fingertips if needed.
