I have a sony that is 7 years old, it takes the small tapes, but isn't digital, its not real small either. so a pain to carry around.
i have a small digital point and shot camcorder, hubby got it for me last year, but it just recently broke :(
i loved it because it fit in my pocket and was easy to carry everywhere,
so lately i have just been using my digital camara to do video, but i am thinking of getting a camcorder...........but i don't want to spend a pile of money right now before we go to disney!
or i could get a bigger memory card for my camara and just use that, I am not sure what I want to do.

I recently invested in a Sony Handycam with hard drive memory and LOVE love love it! It holds 22 hours of video and I bought a 14 hour battery which is waaaayyy smaller than any camcorder battery I have ever had before. When I had the VHS-C, it was always so bulky so we kept it in the bag and by time we'd get it out we missed what we wanted to shoot, so I am so happy to have this compact camera this go round!

As for using the camera with a larger card, I would try it out at home to test the quality of the video. My digicam also does video but I have not been terribly impressed with the video quality though the pics are great!

Which sony did you buy? I have been looking at the new hard drive sony's because they also use a Memory Stick Pro Duo for still images. Does yours take photos as well? I usally carry a sony digital camera, sony psp and sony U digital camera with me to disney. They all use MS Pro Duo cards so I'd like to stick with sony.

I just saw this sony in the flyers, I am thinking of getting it.......its on sale for 190 at sears i believe, and 199 at circuit city.

I just bought a Panasonic H18. I tried a JVC and looked at the Sony, but the Panasonic is rated better than both.
