I have mentioned this response to other threads, but thought it deserved it's own!!

There is a website - http://www.bookoo.com/ - which is just like CL but even more localized. I live in a Chicagoland suburb - I can either buy/sell items through CL, which could possibly have me driving an hour or more - or I can use bookoo. My local bookoo is www.napervilleyardsales.org - the furthest I have ever had to meet someone is 15 minutes from my house. Things sell quicker, for more money - and I have never gotten spam from it. (Unlike CL, where I am to wait for a check for $2000, mail the item, then send back $1995 ;) )

I had some misc stuff to sell - and have set up four meet-ups in an hour for sales totalling $160.

If you go to the bookoo site, it will tell you if your city or country has a site, and if not, you can suggest it.

HTH someone!!

I didn't realize Bookoo was for civilian areas as well - we have Pendleton Yard Sales that is run by Bookoo for North County San Diego, and Miramar Yard Sales for closer to downtown. I think most major Marine Corps bases have a Yard Sales website.

that sounds pretty cool. Craig's list is hit or miss, and ebay charges too much. I'll have to look into it when i go back to dallas. Maybe i can get more than from a yard sale.

I had never heard of it until we got to Ft Benning in GA. The one here seems to get a good bit of traffic but there are several small ones not too far away that don't have much on them at all.
