I've been wondering how many people actually Boo or have been Boo'ed. I had never heard of it until I moved to this area six years ago. But my kids look forward to being Boo'ed and watch for any sightings. We moved over the summer and they keep asking if they'll still get Boo'ed in the new house. I'm hoping they do it in our new neighborhood and if they don't, I guess I could always start.

So, is Booing a big deal to your kids? (I've also heard it called "Ghost'ed".) When do you start? I'm thinking of starting next weekend or is that too late?

:confused3

If you made it this far thru the post and have no idea what I'm talking about, Booing is a spin on the old "Ring and Run" but you leave a basket (or bag) of goodies. I usually put candy and little Halloween stickers, pencils, etc. The kids love running up to the door, ringing the bell and running. We include a poem that tells them they've been Boo'ed and a little sign they hang on the door to let others know they've been Boo'ed and to pass it on to 2 more houses.

Never heard of it around here, but I might just start a trend. ;)

Ive never heard of it.. but what a cute idea..

I just found out about it on Friday! It's going around the building that I work though, not in our neighborhood. It's a neat idea!

I never had before, but it just happened to us today! It was very cute, and the kids were so excited.

I've heard of it, but I have never been booed. Maybe I will start it around here.

Not around here LOL...pull something like that and someone will meet you at the door with a shotgun! Anyone sneaking around ringing bells is looking for trouble here LOL!!

Happened to us last year for the first time.

Me And You And A Dog Named Boo

1. I remember to this day the bright red Georgia clay,
How it stuck to the tires after the summer rain.
Will power made that old car go; a woman's mind told me that it's so.
Oh, how I wish we were back on the road again.
chorus:
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.
2. I can still recall the wheat fields of Saint Paul,
And the mornin' we got caught robbin' from an old hen.
Old MacDonald made us work, but then he paid us for what it was worth,
Another tank of gas and back on the road again.
chorus:
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.
3. I'll never forget that day we motored stately into big L.A.
The lights of the city put settlin' down in my brain.
Though it's only been a month or so, that old car's buggin' us to go.
You gotta get away and get back on the road again.
chorus:
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
Travellin' and livin' off the land.
Me and you and a dog named Boo,
How I love bein' a free man.

Pop daddy, do you think the person in the song loves the person they are with or their dog more? The dog actually got a name mention.

I haven't heard of Boo'ing but I like it!

lol, nope, he loves the women

I never heard of it until the neighbor at the bus stop said she was booed and explained it.

Sounds very cute!!!

We got booed the first weekend in Oct. Pretty much every house in the development has a boo on their door by now. The kids love it.

We were booed last year. While a cute idea I likened it to chain letters. I really didn't want to have to go and do the same thing to 4 other people! We were stressed trying to get those boo bags on the porches without drawing attention. I felt bad booing my friends but didn't want to disappoint the original booer.
