YES! When I was younger..I wasn't sure.....but...my best friend's Dad is Dr. Raymond A. Moody.

I sat in his CHAIR (he talks about this chair in his books), I know it exists. Laugh at me all you want, but I KNOW it is there! :sunny:

Here is a link to Dr. Moody - he is awesome. http://www.lifeafterlife.com/

Life after death...would make the word death pointless, now wouldn't it? ;)

Chad, I believe you're finally understanding. ;)

OP, Yes! Without a doubt. We go to heaven or hell.

I put down other because I'm not too sure what I think about it. I'm not sure about the heaven /hell part. I'm not sure if we go somewhere other than those 2 choices. Is there a different plane, can people remain earthbound as an alternate life force? I want to say yes, but I sometimes have doubts.

I voted :We can't ever really know for sure.

I'll let you all know when the time comes and post on the CB! ;)

I tend to believe in reincarnation. Life energy is too strong a force to just "die" - it must go somewhere. Unlike the physical body parts which break down just like auto parts - the "spirit", IMHO, can't disappear completely. :)

Pardon My ignorance, but I am not familiar with the chiar you are talking about, and I didn't see anything about it on his website. Could you tell us a little bit about it?

I don't believe all goes black when we die, that is for sure. I could not get through life if I believed that.

Someone started a thread the other day, asking what people think happens when we die. I'm always amazed at people who adamantly believe we go to Heaven or Hell......but I'm even more amazed by people who believe we just turn to dust. That flips me out to even consider.

I like the idea of reincarnation best, so that is what I choose to think happens to us when we die. We come back as someone else. :goodvibes

I kinda have a mixed thing.

I believe our ultimate destination is a sorta-traditional heaven/hell thing.

However, I have mixed feelings on reincarnation (I think some people *are* reincarnated), and I do think there is more to it than a black and white heaven/hell.

What I like to think is that we are reincarnated until we achieve what we need to be able to go to heaven or the ultimate evil and go to hell (ie: I don't like the idea of Hitler as being reincarnated)

But the only part of that that I'm 100% certain on is that heaven exists. I may be wrong, but I don't believe so.

I dunno. But death never did make too much sense to me. One minute you are 'alive' and thinking and everything. the next second you're not...it seems like there has to be some inbetween. Not really heaven or hell, but maybe you keep thinking. :confused3 I guess we'll never know. and by the time we do, we won't get to tell anyone.

Evil ends upon death. They cease to exist. Dust. Period.

Everyone else, whether they like it or not ;) :rotfl: lives on. How or in what form, I have no idea, but I believe there is life after our bodies die, for everyone who is not evil. There is no hell, Heaven is the "state of after life."

That is my convoluted idea. :teeth:

And I just posted a thread about this subject, before I saw this thread. I think that's weird in a spiritually connected kind of way. :earseek:

;) :teeth:

Edited to add: Heaven to me is not a Christian "place", but a "place" for everyone, even those who don't believe in an afterlife or God or a god or gods etc. :teeth: I'm not sure if it's even a place, or more of a state of being. :confused3 :earseek: It's not a religous place, just like here on Earth. You don't have to have a relgion or certain beliefs to exist here on Earth, neither do you have to "in" Heaven. :bitelip:

I think it's past my bedtime. :teeth:

I do believe in Heaven & Hell. I had an experience with the "dead" 2 years ago. My Mom was dying in her hospital room & I had left her for about 20 mins to bring my children home & returned to the hospital to be with her. As I entered the hospital, my Mom came up beside me on my right & my Dad who passed away in 1968 came up beside me on my left. They both took me arm & arm & led me to my Mom's room. I spoke to my Mom during our walk but she just looked straight ahead & said nothing. I looked at my Dad (very closely) & he just looked straight ahead too. They did not speak but they were there holding me up. As I entered my Mom's hospice room, I just knew she was dead since she was standing beside me but she was still breathing. :confused3 I still don't understand that part but I approached her bed & held her hand & she looked at me & then took her last breath & with tears in her eyes, she passed away. I was so serene & so at peace but that was because I was staring at my Mom who was across the room standing next to my Dad.

My Mom kept appearing to me during the next few days while arrangements were being made & each time she appeared to me, I had this deep deep peaceful feeling that was like nothing possible on this earth. The last time she appeared to me was the day before the viewing & since I saw her, I knew the funeral home had combed her hair different than how she wore it. I told my DH "my Mom is sitting right here in front of me. She looks absolutely beautiful dressed in the outfit I brought to the funeral home. The only thing is that her hair is combed different ~ it's combed all completely back & it looks kinda flat...unlike how she wore it." Thankfully my DH humored me & didn't take me to the psych ward. The next day at the viewing, you know how family gets to view the deceased first to make sure all is okay? Well, my husband looked very pale. I asked him "are you okay?" He said "yeah, I guess....I was looking at your Mom's hair & it's exactly the way you described it!" So I guess when I told him that I saw my Mom & blah blah blah, he didn't really believe me. Now he believes me.

I don't know if anyone else will believe me but if I had any doubts before, I am absolutely certain now that there is an afterlife. That complete sereneness I felt each time my Mom appeared was not anything that I have ever felt here on earth ~ so she must have brought that to me to comfort me since it was the most intense painful moment of my life losing my best friend, my Mom.

Yes, I do believe!

Yes... pretty sure on heaven, not as sure on hell... or maybe not as sure as the "typical Christian" view of hell. I do also believe in the idea of purgatory or some sort of "holding pen" At least for now. So I picked other, since heaven adn hell aren't quite as black & white for me as it is for some.
