Do you bake Christmas cookies?

My daughter will probably bake a couple things, but we don’t make a ton of different kinds because we never eat them. When the kids were little we did, but now that they are all adults we really don’t eat them and wind up throwing them out if we have too many. What about you?

I’ve made a huge variety in the past starting in November and freezing most of them. I haven’t made many the last couple years. I’ll probably just do a couple favorites this season.

Yes - DD18 & I dabble with new recipes early and then move on to the yearly favorites. We started new recipe #1 about 10 minutes ago and I can already tell it’s a fail :rotfl: .
This idea came from TikTok

My mom, sister and I are getting together this weekend to make a bunch of treats. My DS will take some and we will sent some to my son stationed at Ft. Hood. The rest we will sent to work with my husband. He is a 911 dispatcher so between them and the road crews they gladly accept food.

Not always and when I do it’s just a couple different ones and that’s it. My husband has his favorite and he’s not really into any others and I certainly don’t need to eat them so I keep it simple. I’m actually not doing any this year cause we’re not having a big family get together so I don’t need them. I am making Rice Krispie Mickey treats for our granddaughters. I’m dipping them in dark chocolate and then adding sprinkles.

I've really pared down. Neither of the kids live at home anymore, and we get so many gift baskets at the office that I don't even bother taking any in there. I'll make some choc chip and probably peanut butter blossom cookies right before Christmas and the kids will eat them when they come by. I'll make candied almonds though. That's a holiday staple around here

It's one of two Christmas desserts we have - a fake pineapple coconut fool and Christmas cookies, so we bake 3-4 types/year, even if we don't have a cookie swap.

With my allergies, we can't buy in bakeries, and I'm not having boxed cookies for Christmas:)...

These days I make more candy than cookies and would give most of it away but we keep nibbling on the caramels and candied cashews. The cashews are already gone, and I just hid half the caramels (2nd batch this year) from DH. Next up will be cashew brittle, and pecan pie bars (cookies on shortbread crust)

My wife will bake, but neither of us are working anymore so none going into our jobs. There was literally a point about 10 years ago when we were going through 50 pounds of flour and 50 pounds of sugar doing Christmas baking. I think 5 pounds of each will do this year.

We do, I usually let the family pick one favorite each and I'll mix up double the recipe, make one batch for now and freeze a second for staggering through the icky cold months.
