Do you attend religious services while on vacation?

It really depends on where we are vacationing and the time we have. If it's a short weekend trip, then no...if it's a longer trip, yes.

We enjoy visiting different churches within our denomination...we meet so many nice people!

Both DW and I grew up in families that ALWAYS went to a Baptist church on vacation so it is kind of ingrained.

We gotten to the point that we are more likely to have "church in the room"; a little family Bible study and prayer. However, if there is a church we're familiar with, or have heard of, I enjoy attending.

Before our last WDW trip we learned that one of the members of 4Him, a contemporary christian group, is the worship leader at a church in Celebration. I would have loved to go there, but we ended up opting for "church in the room" and brunch at Boma!

Yep, we do. Like a couple others above, we check the internet for the location of a nearby Catholic church and get a listing of the Mass schedule.

It's always interesting to see how the local customs make the Mass slightly different (choice of songs, etc) and the various archictecture of the Church buildings.

I guess we don't see it as a big deal attending while on vacation, it's just something we do.

Sometimes yes, but most often no. :(

I did attend church when we visited Disney last year and on our one and only vacation to Maui. But more often than not, we not only take a vacation from work, but also from attending church.

Does that make us bad?

We do. Liek a few others, I look up the Catholic Churches in teh area before we travel and schedule our vaction activities to include going to Mass either Saturday night or Sunday.
We will be going on the DIsney Magic this month and I seached the internet for a Catholic Church in Key West that has a Mass after we dock at 12:30pm and I cannot find one.
Any one know of one?

Yes- going to another church on vacation is a vacation for me because I work for my church. I always like to see how other churches do things and the biggest perks are that no one knows me and no one asks me to take care of any problems or put out any fires. I can actually relax and worship. YEAH!

If I have a car with me, then yes. I really enjoy seeing other churches and services. Different areas tend to have different types of music also. But, if we are at WDW then it's a no. I just don't want to take a cab to church. Besides, Episcopalian churches are a wee bit harder to find than Catholic ones.

We went to services at the Poly a few times before they stopped doing it.

It depends on where I go, who I am with and what kind of transportation I have around there. On average, I seem to skip service more than I make it to one while vacationing.

Yes, we always go to Mass when we are on vacation. Like others have posted we look up Mass times in the area and then off we go! :sunny: At WDW, we've jumped in a cab and headed off to Mass many times. Our next trip will fall on a holy day so we will be jumping in a cab on a Sunday and during the week for Mass! I actually enjoy visiting the different parishes around the country.

We always go to church while on vacation. Even when we are camping. For anyone who has never been, Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine is just outside WDW (about a 12 minute drive from CBR last weekend) and it is the most gorgeous church I have ever been to. They are under major repair right now, but it is just so beautiful. I have told my DD's that I want them to marry there in 20 years or so, and hold the reception at WDW!

If we are able to find a pentecostal church nearby then we often go but if it's a short trip or if we don't see a church we'd like to attend then we don't. But I like to visit other churches so I'm always happy if we do visit one.

I don't attend while NOT on vacation so I sure wouldn't go while I was on vacation either!

We attend every Sunday at home and while on vacation we try. At WDW we love going to Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine. If we are other places and not sure where a church is then no we don't.

We do go to church while on vacation at the lake every summer, but not while at WDW. I know we should, but we don't...........P

Usually, but it is more difficult at WDW since they took the services away from the Poly. Last year we went to a little church over on the Space coast on Sunday, and in January we went to the Shrine.
