We've got this big trip coming up. We have tons to do before hand.
I work everyday, including Saturday and Sunday to set up and take down for a huge sweet 16. DH has to help because of some frame work that needs to be made. he works M-F from 8am-7pm with his job. We head out on Monday next week.
We are starting to feel the stress and snapping at each other a bit. It'll be a huge sigh when we are on that plane and leaving the stress behind.

Anyone else?

Oh definitely! We are just like my parents have always been. Really, really snap at each other the morning to leave for trip, until we are on the plane, or in the car. Then all is forgiven!

I was thinking of having SCAPE GOAT tatooed to my forehead.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You betcha!:crazy2: Snappin' away already! :duck: Ever seen the Family Guy where Lois snaps at Xmas and screams at the family that Christmas doesn't fall out of her holly jolly butt? Yeah, I have a WDW version.:rotfl: It seems a little worse this year as we watch Hurrican Ike. I am very happy we are driving to DFW to fly out. We usually leave from Houston and initially I was hating the longer drive. We've also started packing earlier in hopes of taking some of the wind out of our sails before we leave the house.

Good Luck!;)

Uhm.. YES! - Just take a (few) deep breaths, when you are about to say something snippy. My lip hurts from having to bite my lip so many times before this past weekend's trip to Seaworld! I think its totally normal and I so remember my mom doing it before EVERY trip, so this time I decided to not fall into the same thing and can honestly say I did ok! GOOD LUCK:thumbsup2

Yes..we sure do! I can get a little bit on the compulsive side before a trip, making sure I clean the house, do I have everything etc. Dh is more laid back and it always ends up with us snapping at each other. But, like another said, once we get on the road to wherever we are going we usually forgive and forget. It really helps that at least once every trip dh says thank you for taking care of everything. I always say thank you for being the wallet in the family. A little humor in our lives always helps.

Uh....yeah LOL. You dont want to be at our house the morning before we leave on a trip. It's very snappy LOL. But once we get going, we are fine. It's just the last minute rush of getting everything together that stresses us out. Especailly DH. He is a VERY impatient person and if we are not running on "his time schedule" he gets very snippy.

Been there, done that, and have gone through three sets of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots in the ten+ years we've been married! :lmao:

Glad to know it's not just us! It irritates the HECK out of me that my DH, in case you all did not know, is the ONLY person in the world that knows how to pack - anything. Only he knows how to pack a suitcase. Only he knows how to pack a car. Only he knows how to pack a diaper bag!!! I guess there is some special school he attended and I missed out on the lessons because I am apparently an idiot in the packing department.

It also makes me chuckle - not - when we get in the car, all crabby from the stress, and he tells me to stop my pouting. Argh!!!!

Oh we totally stress on each other the morning we leave. No matter how much we think we prepared..we are snapping, losing it trying to get everyone and everything out the door. Its usually me snapping..and him grumbling.

Once we are in the car heading to the airport..We usually make a truce. No more fighting on vacation and we de-stress..

Maybe your husband is my husband's long lost twin or they went to packing school together.

I can't even pack a cooler for goodness sake, it is cokes and ice.
COKES AND ICE!!

We do sometimes, particularly leading up to an important event that we have to prepare for. Our daughter's first birthday party, for instance - we were snapping at each other all day about what we had to do.

It's unusual for us because we hardly ever fight, so we're pretty quick to apologize when we do snap. :flower3:

Hope your packing goes by quickly. You and DH will have a great time on your trip and the stress will melt away quickly!!

Yes.. we snap at eachother trying to get everything ready. And I remember my parents doing the exact same thing when I was growing up.
I laughed out loud at your comments on your DH being the only one who can pack anything.
My dh used to be a bellman in high school. Apparently that has given him a life long membership in the "Only I can pack the car" club:rolleyes1

My dh was not a bellman, but a bagger at a grocery store. I think there must be more than one job that allows them to apply for membership! Funny thing is, I can find things so much BETTER when I pack the car.

of course...you always snap at the ones you love:) They will forgive you. It's better than snapping at your kids or your boss.

Um- YEAH! :lmao: Who doesn't? If there isn't one other person in the world that you can snap on, lose it with, stress out about things with, or whatever - it is your spouse. Is it right? NO! Do all married couples do it? I think so! We have our little hissy fits, apoligize, and move on.... Especially when we are overtired or feel like we are being pulled in 10 different directions, but DH and I try to take a step back, realize what we are doing and try to move on... There are times that DH looks at me like I am the possessed girl with the spinning head from the Exorcist and asks if I am OK.

We both acknowledge we are not aiming our anger at the other, its the situation... but he/I just get to be the *lucky*;) recieptient of it. I ALWAYS stress :scared1: out before vacation. I do all the planning, finacial arranging & budgeting, packing, cleaning... its a load! But once we are in the car on our way, we take a big breath, let it out, smile and get psyched for our vacation! Especially when its at WDW!! :lovestruc

For us snapping at each other is ritual. It continues right up to the time that we are in the car on the way to the airport. "Are all the bags in the trunk?" "Do you have the plane tickets?" "How about the vouchers for the hotel?" "Do you have money?" "Did the boys bring bathing suits?" "Did we leave enough time to get to the airport?" "Do you have singles to tip the Skycap?" "If we don't tip the skycap, we may never see our bags again!" There is finally a moment when we've checked our bags, gotten through security and sit down for a bite to eat(invariably we now have an hour and a half to kill before the plane takes off)that we realize that we are on vacation. What a great feeling!!!!!!

Here's a photo of us the night before we left for WDW last September:

This isn't any clothing or toiletries. This is just the "stuff" required for taking 3 kids to Disney. Plus our stroller!

Now you tell me, does this look stressful?

This will be us in November of this year! And dh & I never snap at each other. Except for two situations. Packing for a major trip. And when a child is puking. Total calm until you throw those two situations at us. Then WATCH OUT! :upsidedow
