Hi there,

I'm floridafam (formerly known as vbfamily until my computer almost BLEW UP)

Anyway, just curious about something.

Would we qualify for any of the special rates at Swa/Dolphin?

DH coaches track at the local middle school and last year was an employee of the public schools.

This year, they were going to cancel all sports but the city has decided to take over the programs and now he will be paid by the city.

Does this qualify for the govt. employee discount?

Just curious. Not wanting anything we are not entitled to. Possibly thinking of staying in Orlando for one night on our way back from Naples.

Thanks in advance for any info.

You may want to contact Guest Services...I know that teachers (at least in FLA) do get some "special" perks. I know for a fact in the past there have been some "free" days at EPCOT, and discount on room rates, but I am not sure what the terms are. I know that CRO will not be able to tell you anything about it, but if you contact Epcot or MK directly you may have better luck. I wish I could tell you exactly who to talk to..If I were you I would do some "digging". Good Luck

You would be eligible for the Fla resident rate that is currently being advertised. You can purchase membership for the Floridian Disney Dining Experience (20% off most meals). Teacher and state employee govt rates are available at the Swan & Dolphin.

Grumpy92- "This would of course be true, only if the OP is a fla res."

Be careful...if you happen to mention a FL rate to a non-fl res...it could start a never ending thread. So I thought that I would just state that on your behalf.

Hi,

I'm the OP.

I am not a FL resident-was at one time and hope to be again but not now.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to the change in my username.

GRUMPY92- Where can I get info about the Floridian Disney Dining Experience? My brother lives in Orlando, and they didn't have any info! Thanks!!

I swear that someone on this board posted last week that they got the Dolphin for $86/night via Hotwire, and that it came up as a 4* on Hotwire. I don't know if that would help you or not, but that rate would beat even the govt. employee rate.
