Do you think that the original poster has a right to decide the direction of a thread? I'm not so much talking about a "hijacking" of a thread as much as a progression of a thread. Or a decision that the original question has been answered so the thread should then be allowed to die. I'm also not talking about the nasty turns that some recent threads have taken, but just every day threads on the community forum.

. When the thread-starter has asked a question or for opinions and then never comes around again to reply to those of us who have taken time to reply, I feel like I wasted my time posting
. It is unthoughtful or even just plain rude to do that.
