We are trying to plan our first cruise for Sept '06!!

What are the tranfer fee for?

If we are driving ourselves down from OH do we need them?

Thanks :)

Driving from Ohio? Wow, and I though it was a long drive for us from Alabama.

Transfer Fees are for using a DCL bus to get from the airport or a Disney World Resort to the cruise terminal.

If you're driving your self and parking at the cruise terminal, you don't need them.

So there is a place to park and walk to the ship? Drop your bags off out front?

You drive into the terminal area where you can drop your bags and family off (sort of like droping someone off at the airport with curb side luggage check). You then drive accross the street to the DCL parking lot where you have to pay for parking in advance ($10 per day for cars, $20 per day for RVs I think). You then walk back to the terminal to meet the family waiting inline to go through the metal detectors (again, like at an airport).

At the end of your cruise, you are taken to a ground floor room where your luggage will be. If you have few enough bags, you pick them up and carry them to your car accross the street. If you have alot of bags, you tip a porter and get them to haul your bags across the street for you.

So basically for one car you pay $70 to park for the duration of the cruise?
