Do we need to start booking 2021 park days now

Thanks for the heads up. They were just so much cheaper! 😭 I keep thinking, Wilderness lodge will be worth it in the end...
I'm looking at TUI online and does the price include tickets or is it just hotel and flights? I thought it was a decent price, but, I saw no mention of park tickets and if that price doesn't include park tickets then that isn't cheap at all.

If there is no option to add park tickets then no, don't bother.

Still not clear whether my dates for July 2021 will be open for reserving tomorrow or not. Can't take the chance of missing out on reservations though, so just finished doing a rapid itinerary for next year just to make sure I can book something tomorrow if needed. It also isn't clear if water parks are going to be included in this, and if so, can you book a theme park and a water park on the same day - because we only stay half a day in a water park, then do a theme park other half of the day. This will screw all those plans if you can't do that. I think it might be prudent to plan on doing a bit less than you might usually.

This is all stupid though - who knows what it is going to be like in 3 months time, let alone a whole year away. It all seems a little premature for next year. I can't help thinking this will remain permanently, as Disney will be able to control and manage the crowds even more than they do at the moment. I am an uber-planner, but having to plan so much in advance is really going to spoil the holiday for a lot of people.

No park hopping is also a big negative - that has really affected how I was planning the holiday. Just hope that gets re-instated by next year.

I don't think you will be able to go to a water park & theme park in one day as that would be considered park hopping. They are planning for the worst with as the situation stands now and may be later. Doesn't mean things won't improve and things won't be put back.

Just got off phone with Disney and was told 2021 reservations not opening up until the 26th. Apparently the word beginning means from and it’s up to the guest to guess what Disney are doing!

Honestly, I'm already stressed as I genuinely don't know if the borders will even be open for my wedding and trio to go ahead over there but yesterday night, we tried to get some sort of plan for what parks to book this Oct - I was literally in years so I honestly can't imagine how it is to book further out like you said as it's utter madness.
We don't know like you said if water parks may suddenly open, mini golf may reopen, hours change etc so we've done what we can but 🤬🤬🤬 is how I feel at the moment haha.
Also, no-one knows exactly is a specific time will need to be selected or not as CM's are telling people different things so it will certainly be interesting tomorrow when the system goes live.
The only thing I'm thinking Disney have truly messed up on are virtual queues. Universal release a good chunk of all ride slots every half hour or so, so people arriving after others have a chance of snagging on. Without, every man, woman and child are gonna arrive super early just so they can get on the popular rides that will cause hugeee queues but I guess if they've been upfront and told you this, it's down to you if you still want to go ahead with your trip. I just don't honestly know how great all this is gonna work out but I'm still mad enough to say Disney, take my money 🙈😂

We went direct through on the phone system as we had the +20% deal from cancelling this April so the extra 20% was the bump up to WL. Tickets included.

Ditto with the itinerary. I've complied what I call my worst case scenario itinerary just in case.
Also ditto with the park hopping, I dont have children so i find magic kingdom very intense after a while, i usually go for about 3 hours and then withdraw to world showcase. I've already decided if we have to do a full day at magic kingdom (to catch possible future fireworks) ill be having table service for lunch and dinner somewhere quietish maybe jungle skipper, to take a break.

You can always take an afternoon break either at resort pool or down to Disney Springs. Or have 1 day for rope drop until you want to leave, then maybe on a water park day (assume back open) go in the evening for fireworks.

so now i understand why disney has eliminated the UK 21 day ultimate ticket for 2021.
the park reservation system is only going to allow us to book a maximum of 14 days.
That's why they're only selling 14 and 7 day tickets on the disneyUK site now.

arrgggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

we're going in July/August 2021. I haven't booked yet as we're DVC, so we can only book at 11 months.
We're going for 21 days and i had planned on buying the 21 day ticket for each of us (9 in the group).

But now there's no 21 day ticket.
And even if i buy the annual pass instead, the system isn't going to let me reserve 21 days, even though we'll have a 21 day reservation.
How irritating!!!

i wonder if i buy a 14 day ultimate and 7 day ultimate, if the system will let me reserve 14 and 7 days.
probably not. And it would be a very expensive test to try it out.

I hadn’t seen a 14 day cut off. I’ve got 21 day tickets.for a 17 night stay. Mind got couple nights at Hard Rock in the middle So can make it work.

maybe they'll have an exception for those of you who managed to snag 21 day tickets before they were discontinued?
maybe? i'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

I am staying DVC in August '21. I don't have reservations yet since I have to wait for my 11 month window to open. Are we really going to need to purchase tickets that far in advance? How are people doing this?

I managed to book our day passes today for April next year. Nightmare. No real info from Disney but dfb have a step by step explanation, which was helpful. I was chucked into a waiting room online to then be transferred to another waiting room online. Got everything booked though, and I guess we are sticking with the choices.

we're also DVC and have to wait for August to book for 2021.
Yes, we're going to have to buy the tickets right away if we want to book park access.
Are tickets refundable if we end up not going?

Possibly not no. My understanding is in the old world (pre COVID) once assigned on MDE then they were no longer refundable. We are not willing to invest in tickets right now as still not decided on date for 2021 booking and deciding which parks to do is even worse. I'm just going to live in hope that by next summer there will still be slots available to use.

yes, i just can't see myself buying 9 tickets this August (when i can book our DVC rooms for next july).
It's so much money to plunk down when i don't know what's going to be the story come next summer.
i only have one more month to think about it....

I'm really hoping that it's going to be waaaay easier to get into the parks next summer otherwise i'm not going.

I managed to make park reservations for the whole 21 days of our ticket for next August but whilst doing that it dawned on me how much my family and I enjoy park hopping. I have MK for 7 days of those 21 days which when looking back in MDE doesn't seem all that much. We like to do a few hours in 1 park in the AM and then hit another park for the second half of the day after maybe having some pool time/water park/shopping in between. It's just the freedom to do that which i'm going to miss and which is a HUGE part of the holiday. I mean, we're staying at Beach Club this year, that is a resort that is perfect for grabbing breakfast in EPCOT or finishing off the day with a snack and drink from around the world with MK/Studios/AK in between. It's all those little things that are currently not possible.

But hey, it's 13 months away, let's all keep our fingers crossed that things have gotten much MUCH better by then.

we're the same...we go for 21 days and typically park hop every single day.......
by the way, what's happening with the water parks,....are they opening as well?

you're so lucky that you got those 21 day tickets...
now i'm going to have to buy 9 annual passes for a very large fortune of money...

if they at least made the 14 day ultimates usable over the course of 21 days, it might be doable...
but not 14 consecutive days...

i don't know...,,,it's upsetting...i know...someones going to come in and say, "but at least you didn't die from corona"...true.....and yes, people are dying..but it's ok to be upset about this too....and i am...

we had 2020 tickets for us, and now have to buy a 2021 ticket for our daughter who will be 3 when we go (sept 21). The Child ticket is due in the post today. According to Florida Tix, the 2020 tickets are refundable, the 2021 ticket is not clear yet!

We're in the same boat, we're in process of buying a resale, so can't book at home resort till october. Planning on sticking 14 days of park reservations in on Sunday!

Human beings are complex things able to feel many emotions at once. A problem is a problem no matter how big or small. So i wouldn't feel guilty about being worried. Its natural when things go wrong. A first world problem is still a problem and yes we are lucky compared to what other people are going through and we know that.
