Do we need to notify Disney Photography: Hi-Res Disc?

Hi all you Disbrides!

It's almost been a year since our awesome Disney wedding (I want a re-do!), and our Magic Kingdom photo shoot.

We're going to wait the three years (well, now it's two years) before we order the Hi-Res disc (sticker shock!).

Do we need to notify them so they don't think we don't want our pics?

What did everyone else experience/do?

Thanks.

No. Disney Photography keeps your photos on file for five years, so when you get to the three-year anniversary you just need to contact them to order it. The price only goes down to $500 on the three-year anniversary, so if you're someone who falls under the $750 pricing to buy it now, you may decide it's not worth the wait.

Does it drop any further after 3 years? I don't mind waiting 4-5 if it's cheaper, lol.

Unfortunately, no, and after 5 years, they supposedly get rid of your photos. :(

Boo :( Too bad. i actually just got my MK album (forgot to order it until 2 months ago, bad DIS Bride), and they printed the wrong date on it! So it got sent back, the person I dealt with at DPS was very nice and gave us an 8x12 of our favorite portrait for free for our troubles.

I just don't think I could justify the cost, even at $500, for the CD. It's not our favorite pictures and the one I really loved we now have in a 8x12 so I'm happy with that!

We were married in February and used DPS for a family photo shoot and a bridal portrait shoot. They sent us the little album for the family shoot, nothing for the bridal portraits. I thought that we would have a few years to do all our ordering, but we got an e-mail last week saying that our photos expire in two weeks. I sent them an e-mail asking questions about ordering the photos on CD and they sent me a credit card authorization form but absolutely no information about the prices or about why we have a deadline of only a few months after the wedding.

Reading about the experiences of other couples has me very confused as to why our photos are being handled differently, and I'm not super enthused about contacting DPS again given their apparent desire to keep all of this info top secret.

That email was referring to the online proofing website Disney sets up for each event, not the photos themselves. It just means that you won't be able to log in to Disney's site and view them after the deadline.

You should have received a folio of 12 images and one 4x6-inch copy of each of your photos from the bridal portrait session, unless you worked out a deal with them to give up the printed products for a discount.

I'd call them to sort it out: 407-827-5099

CositaRicaFabulosa - could it be that your online gallery is about to expire? It's been a while since our VR, but IIRC, the online viewing was only up for a couple of months and then it went down (but we could pay to reactivate it). AFAIK you can still order pictures after the online gallery goes down though - or at least I hope so because I still sometimes toy with getting a few more prints.:scared1:
