Do we need to check into hotel to activate DDP?

We want to go right to the park instead of stopping at the resort if possible...will this mess uo our use of our DDP? Definitively want to use it that evening. Thanks!

Just do online check in and make sure your desired check-in time is early in the day. You can also do check-in from the app on your phone. Either one will activate your dining plan.

If for some reason it doesn't, just charge your meal to your room and get the resort to fix it when you get to your room.

Yes you need to check in to activate the plan. Online suffices

In February 2016 we went straight to DS to eat. I did online check in, but our dining plan wasn't registering. The manager took care of it by calling the resort, so it worked out, just pointing out that there could be hiccups.
