Do we need reservations for breakfast?

It is best to secure an ADR, ie reservation for any TS meal you want to have at WDW. Walk ups are not typical at any TS restaurant. They are not impossible, but not to be expected.

I think it depends on the restaurant. You may end up waiting a bit (i.e., 30 min or less), but you should be OK at most places. Last year, we had breakfast at Kona, Spoodles, and (more than once!) the Yacht Club Galley (now the Captain's Grille) without ADRs.

However, if you have something you specifically want to eat, you may want to make an ADR so you know you'll get in.

Good advice...

Don't take chances on something you have your heart set on, something you have to travel to, or on a day that time is tight.

I would always make an ADR for a TS place no matter what meal. It can be very disappointing if you get there and there are no openings. You can always call and cancel your ADR if you can't make it ( Please do call as a courtasy).

When we were at Disney in October, we asked the night of 10/25 about breakfast on the 26th. The only thing they found was the 1900 Park Fare at 10:45. It did work perfectly for us, but it was the only breakfast that was avaliable. I would be sure to make ADR if you want a sit down breakfast.

Best to have them if you know where/when, but the non-character TS breakfasts just don't seem that busy at all. You can probably get away without having the ADR, but you can also find yourself hungry and without a place to eat.

Without an ADR you may be forced to wait. I found a really easy one with great food that you can get an ADR for even the night before... I'll tell you about it since it doesn't seem you are going the same time as we are... The Grand Floridian Cafe. Order the steak & eggs, it's great. I called for an ADR literally the night before and got it.

Get there early and you should have no problem.

Another thing--reservation folks on the phone will often say nothing is available, but then if you try to walk-up, you can get in. We did this at Kona (for dinner for five in July), and saw people do it at Chefs de France and Chef Mickey's.
