Do we lock the checked in luggage?

Can you not pack a Leatherman in your checked luggage? My husband thinks he can't go anywhere without his.

Did anyone see the investigation that was done to catch the baggage screeners (I think it was in New York??) People had been complaining that items were taken out of their luggage so hidden cameras were set up. You saw the screener taking way too much time and really rifling through everything in the luggage. Then he picked up a case that had a woman's jewelry in it. He actually started pulling out the necklaces and you saw his hand go behind his back (probably to his pocket). I was so disgusted. Also, the TSA had purposely put items like watches, cameras, etc. in luggage and it was found at one of the screener's homes. Here they make you unlock your bags. Who knows what is going on back behind the scenes where we can't see and they're stealing. Of course, they don't all steal but this just makes me
