Do we Jump Ship or stick with the DCL we love for Alaska?

We did a cruisetour with RCL 10 years ago. Wouldn’t have missed the land portion for anything. I think it was my favorite part of the trip. The cruise was enjoyable and the ports and excursions were good, but the service on the ship was subpar. However, we’ve been on RCL since and had good service. I think Alaska really deserves a land portion.

If you truly want the Alaskan experience stick with Princess! We are a Disney family... both the parks and the cruise! We also love to visit National Parks! We have done Alaska twice, once with Princess and once with RC, and wouldn't have changed it for the world! The land portion, especially Denali is an awesome experience!
Our kids, ages 13 and 10, are now interested in going to Alaska and we have definitely thought about DCL and extending our vacation with the Canadian Rockies... since I have always wanted to visit Banff! However, we have already done the land portion of Alaska TWICE (and I would do it again!)

When we finally decided to plan our trip to Alaska, we knew we weren't going with Disney for two reasons: costs and the fact they didn't go to Glacier Bay. I did not want to miss that and it was well worth it.

We sailed with Holland America and did the land and sea tour -- 7 night cruise and then 12 nights on land traveling all the way up into the Yukon and flying back from White Horse to Vancouver. They took care of everything -- all we had to do was be on the bus on time and enjoy the days plans. We loved the fact that every time we arrived at a hotel we just walked to our room as we were already checked in and they handed out the room keys as you got off the bus. Many excursions and meals were included. It was well planned, well thought out and just wonderful. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

As a comparison -- the cost of the 7-night Disney cruise in a verandah for 3 adults was the SAME price we paid for the 20-day land and sea tour including the flights back to Vancouver, hotel at Denali, train and all hotels and some meals on the land portion! [the train to Denali, BTW, was worth the whole trip!]
