Do we have to check out in person?

If we book a value resort for 1 night, do we have to check out in person? I want to check in in person (of course) but I want to avoid having to check out in person. Can this be done?

You don't have to check out in person. They'll slip a receipt under your door overnight, if you want to keep that paperwork for record keeping.

Or if you have an email address on file with them, they will usually just send you an email statement. Either way you don't have to check out in person usually.
