Do we have enough time for this at Animal Kingdom?

If we have a 12:40 ADR at Tusker House, will we be able to make the 1:45 Flights of Wonder show?

Likewise, if we had a 10:20 ADR at TH, would we have enough time to walk straight back for Conservation station and do that before our ADR?

Probably not, at Tusker House you might not be seated right away, you'll need to eat fast. You could always try to get to your ADR a little early.

I'm pretty sure on 9am opening days, train to Conservation Station doesn't start running until 9:30am? I would think you could make your ADR if you just took the train, walked around and came back. But I don't know how often the trains run that early in the morning. Other option would be to ride the Safari at rope drop and walk the gorilla trail before heading to the ADR?

1. No. Plan on spending at least 75 minutes in the restaurant. Maybe more.
2. No. You should plan 90 to 120 minutes for the conservation station.

Agreed with above posters . . . . We ALWAYS allow 90 minutes in our plans for table service restaurants, and I've never regretted it.

Conservation station, I would allow at least an hour and a half to two hours, maybe even a bit more.

To kind of piggy back on this question...

Would you see the 11:00 FotLK show if you have an 11:30 ADR at Tusker House? I know we'd arrive a few minutes late to the ADR, but shouldn't be too bad since the theater is right there. Or should I try to make the 10:00 show? Right now my plan is to ride the Safari at rope drop, then do Pangani Trail. TP says I won't make the 10:00 LK show after these two things, but I guess I could try. Or skip the trail if the Safari takes too long, and go back to it after the show.

11am Lion King, you're likely going to wait when you get to Tusker House anyway, if you show up a little late, you'll just be waiting longer, so it's possible. There might be a bunch of people going straight from Lion King to TH, so you certainly wouldn't want to dilly dally.

10am Lion King, at rope drop, the line at Safari won't be long at all. Then when you get off, you can see what time it is. Good thing about the Pangani Trail, you could always do some of it, leave for the 10am Lion King, then come back to see whatever you missed later. And touring-wise, you'd need to figure out what you were doing between 10:30am and 11:30am. Safari again with FP?

Wow! I didn't realize it took so long! Touring Plans only gives it like an hour (including the train ride part).

The train ride, including waiting, is about 15 to 20 minutes plus a 5 minute walk once you get off the train. So there and back is already around 40 to 50 minutes without even seeing anything.

Well, it's going to take as long as you want it to take, the makeup of your family, what you want to do. Depending on how long you have to wait for the train, figure on minimum 30-40 minutes round trip for train and walking. My wife and I can saunter through Conservation Station in 20-30 minutes and see everything, we've never been there much longer than an hour (total round trip time), but we've been many times. But if they have some interesting animals out, or if you have some small kids who want to run around and pet the goats, you could easily be there much much longer.

Your initial question with ADR 10:20am is really pushing it, the train might not start until 9:30am, and who knows how quickly the trains run that early. You would need to walk through quick and come straight back, in my mind not worth it.

Just to re-emphasis the answers already given here.

I'd say no on making the Flights of Wonder show. Glad you are asking .. most people severely underestimate travel time getting from one point to another in the parks and suffer from disappointment or stress themselves out.

I would give 60-90 minutes to Tusker house
- You are not going to get seated right away
- If you have kids you have to wait for the characters to come around
- It is a buffet and you'll probably want to make several trips :)

Conservation Station?
Again . .what people have said .. about 90 minutes .. It is a time consuming .. but relaxing area (because it is out of the way).

If you are looking for something to do before your ADR .. I would think you do the Kilimanjaro Safari if you can get there at rope drop (or have an early Fast Pass). It's a long ride, but you should have time .. and Tusker House is right there in Africa with the Safari.

Good point. I don't want to be in a crowd and end up having to wait long for our table. I'll plan for the 10am LK so we can get to Tusker 5-10 minutes before our ADR.

We're not using FP for AK this morning since we're hopping to Epcot in the evening & will use our FP there. We have another almost full day planned for AK later in the week, so this morning my goal is just to see the Africa section & have lunch at Tusker House. If we have time for more, it's a bonus. My DD6 will probably like the Wilderness Explorers, so we could fill in some time doing those activities. Or go meet Pocahontas and/or Dug & Russell. We have a busy day planned for MK the day before this, so I want this morning at AK to be more relaxed.

As others have pointed out, first you have to wait for the train. If one JUST LEFT . .. you may have a wait. Total time, waiting and riding, perhaps as much as 20 to 25 minutes if I remember correctly. That is 40 to 50 minutes round trip. Add in the 5 minute walk between the conservation station and the train station, and you are at 50 minutes to an hour, plus what ever time you want to actually spend there seeing what there is to see. I think Touring Plans is overly optimistic with that hour . . . you COULD get there and back faster than I have suggested, but I certainly wouldn't make a plan that COUNTED on it, as it is just as likely to take an hour just in travel time.

So for someone who has children that absolutely LOVE animals, and one wants to be a vet (my 8 year old), is Conservation Station worth it, or too big of a time sucker?

If your child really loves animals, yes, I would say it is worth it. Especially if they have any vet procedures scheduled that morning for viewing (I believe you can check with guest services at the front of the park for the schedule). Just go into it knowing how much times it takes (all the previous replies are correct, it really does take 90-120 minutes for the entire experience) and consider that it may cut something else from your day.
