do we call member services for everything?

I'm calling for our adr's tomorrow. do i still go through member services for those?

this is our first trip as dvc members and i'm not sure what to do.

i know (or think i do) that we don't have to pay for the ddp until we check in - is that right.

who do we buy our 10 day park pass from? can we just add that to our room key the day we check in?

will my daughter (who is 3) get her own room key with her name on it?

We still call the dining #.

I think you can call MS, but I have found that the dining people are better equipped to handle it, and it doesn't figure into our annual dues.

What Mickey'sApprentice is trying to say is calling MS costs all members with higher dues, calling the dining # doesn't.

We have done it both ways.

This is really tweezing hairs, but...

If all DVC members called MS to get ADRs, then MS would have to hire more staff to handle ADRs. However, if we call Disney Dining, then we are calling Dining personnel instead of Disney DVC personnel.

Since our dues pay for MS, I'd really like to avoid calling them for something that can be handled elsewhere. The flip side of that is that MS is a 1800# while Disney Dining is a 407#. I just use my cell phone.

Of course, Disney accountants may be able to figure out when DVC members called the dining line, but its worth a shot. Plus the dining CMs seem to know more about dining than MS.

Yes your Daughter 3 will get her own key card with no charging priveleges my daughter loved hers her first trip when we got home I let her keep it she still has it and she is 7 now.

I am going to purchase my park hoppers for this trip through either disney or another source just haven't decided who yet.

If you call MS for dining you have to go through the whole question and answer of DVC membership number, etc.

Much easier IMHO to just call WDW Dine directly.

I'm going to call Disney Dining for my ressies. They really do seem to know what they are doing, and I have an allergy that has to be noted on all of my ADR's which takes some time. I don't want to tie up MS too much either!

I usually call WDW-DINE because they are open longer hours. I often make my ADR calls in the evening after MS is closed. I find I can get right through on WDW-DINE if I call between 8PM and 10PM. We have free long distance so the cost of the call is not an issue. If I happen to be calling MS for other reasons and have just a couple of ADRs to make, then I have done it through them especially if I called in the late afternoon and they don't seem to be too busy.

You can book 90 days out from your arrival - not sure where you got 7 days. (And it was 180 days until just recently). They will ask you for your reservation # if you are trying to book using the 90+10 window. If it's just one day's worth of reservation(s) and you are 90 or less days out from that date, you don't need your reservation # at all.

I believe you can book 90 days in advance of your arrival date and can book up to 10 days worth of ADRs on that call.

I believe the PP was asking how many days worth of ADRs you can make and I believe it's ten days worth not just seven. You can call 90 days prior to check in.

I meant calling 90 days out from you're arrival date but being able to book all of your res. for all 7 or 10 days of your trip....
Instead of calling everyday to book the next day...
I was concerned they wouldn't take my DVC Res. as a Res.#

IT'S ok - i've got a fried brain - between all these reservation dates, looking for the emh which finally came out and booking dates for our cruise i'm all dated out.

just got off the phone with all my reservations

almost lost cinderella though - they didn't have breakfast (which we really wanted) or lunch but found a dinner (think we got the last seats) phew

would have hated to read the headlines - toddler kills mummy for not being able to eat with cinderella LOL

Actually when I called WDW DINE I didn't have my reservation number in front of me and had to go to our file cabinet in the basement and the CM stayed on the phone with me while I went down 2 flights of stairs to get it.

Plus they were great about noting our food allergies since both DH and DD are allergic to strawberries.

I honestly only call MS if it is absolutely necessary.

well - i went through ms because i was going to pay our annual (only to find out they weren't open today) so i just did our adr's with them and the girl i spoke with was wonderful.

my daughter was running around wanting me now mummy now i need you now and i said i was talking to mickey's friend getting our dinner reservations. well dd thought that was wonderful and wanted to talk to mickey friend.

the cm thought that was so cute and actually said hi to dd which sent her off in fits of giggles. dd i mean not the cm LOL

When we called and added a day at POR, our CM was so into our DVC. She wanted to know where we owned and how we liked it. She said, oh the Boardwalk is so beautiful. I knew you had to just love it.
