Do U like Disney's FW Online Reservation System?

We do not like Disney's Fort Wilderness Reservation System because it does not tell us what dates are available if the dates we want are not available. Why can't Disney have an online calendar that shows available dates like other travel websites such as Recreation.gov or Cedar Point Campground? Even the cast members do not have access to a live calendar of availability. We have to keep guessing date ranges over and over again.

Are U satisfied with Disney's FW Online Reservation System?

With warm regards, James

Absolutely not. It needs a major overhaul. Also the CM's need to be more knowledgeable about the Fort.

I hate that if I make a ressie on the website I can't make payments on the website. You have to call them to make payments, I don't have time to call.

How many times have you been here? Blah, blah, blah....Tell us the names of everyone you know and spell them.

The big problem with the online system is that you can't enter the important information that is needed for check-in.

length of unit
awnings
slide out
pets
close to comfort station
etc.

They want to you to used the on line system, but it has too many flaws for me.

I definately agree.

Do I like it, NO!

Someone mentioned knowledgeable cast members, wouldn't that be great. They could actually do that, maybe divert Fort calls to a certain trained group of folks rather than random folks.

And you can enter some info about your unit online, in the Special Room Requests (see below), you can click it when you do your booking. Trouble there is it's fairly generic. My motorhome is 31', so I select 30'-40'. My reservation is then in the system as being able to accommodate a 40' motorhome. That would seem to limit my site choices. I like to call and update that part. (Yeah, I suppose I could just select the next size down, I can fit anywhere a 30' motorhome can, maybe I'll try that next time...)

Yup, just went through this booking our December trip (been WAY too long since our last stay at the Fort). While I was on-line attempting to book a site a pop up appeared allowing me to email questions, real time, about the reservation. I advised I had just started the on-line reservation process but did not see where I could list the length of the rig, specify we would need a pet loop, slides, etc. She assured me that before I was done I'd have that opportunity and I bid her fairwell. While one of the previous posts demonstrates that there may have been some accomodation for this, it certainly was not obvious to me. I ended up calling.

When you've got a 43' rig, you don't take chances. The site does need some redesign. The nice young man I got on the phone as much as admitted same.

Have NEVER been successful making an online reservation, and continue to be surprised at the quality of not only the reservation system but also anything on the website that requires interaction. I expect an organization as respected and large as Disney to be the tops in online experience for their guests.
The latest disappointment was losing a saved reservation by opening a new window to check on another date.
Talking to a CM always is better anyway since they are always happy to try to provide the best experience possible.

The TA site isn't any better either. We've been complaining about it for years but, as much as they "revise" it, they still don't change the important stuff that'd actually make it easier to book online. Even the CMs at central res have admitted to me at times they feel the current system is more time-consuming than need be and less flexible b/c it doesn't show what isn't available anymore so you can work around it without having to re-enter dates/choices multiple times...

They still see what I do and have to revise search to get a quote if a night's not available but, at least on their end, they can enter the site info we can't do online and always end up handling in a follow-up call afterwards anyway...
