First time dining plan users here!:cool1:

We are going in August, using free dining. We currently have ressies for Biegarten at 4:40 pm and just realized that they have specific showtimes for the entertainment in the restaurant. Currently, they have a show at 4:45 and the next one isn't until 5:55.

Is disney pretty good about seating you on time? Do you think we will be seated in time for the 4:45 show if we keep our 4:40 ressie? Or should we try to change our ressie?

I can't speak for this restaurant but I can speak for sitting on time. And that would be rare. Now I'm not saying it's going to be long wait. But it can be a good 15 -20 min wait to sit. Now the advantage you have it's an early sitting . So your chances r better. I would get there at least 10 to 15 min's before your ress. Just my opinion.

I would try to bump your ressie up a little if you can. In my experience, we got seated on time or within 5-10 minutes. I also got seated early sometimes when we went early. None of it is a guarantee, so I would move it up if I could.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to keep calling to try to bump up the time a little. If not, we'll try to arrive early and hope for the best!

our experience everywhere is those early dinner reservations you'll usually get seated within 5-10 minutes of checking in - even if you check in early. So I'd say check in shortly before 4:30 & you may be right in time to see the 4:45 show.

I have gone the past few years during free dining and can tell you most of the time you are seated later than your adr..Maybe not real late but about 5-10 mins late on avg. The latest was 45 mins past my adr time

We are always given a pager and always wait. Sometimes longer than others. I belive the longest was 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Garden Grill.

For an early dinner though you should be fine. Get to the resturant 10-15 minutes early so you can go ahead and get seated.

That's what I'm hoping, since it is an early ressie. Problem may be though, that we are a party of 7.

:confused3 I didn't realize my question was funny? Or are you saying that it is funny to think I'd get seated on time? Your response confused me a bit!:lmao:

Thanks. I'll keep calling to trying to bump up the time a little. And wow - 45 minutes past your adr time! That's a long wait! Hopefully we don't experience any of that!

We'll definitely get there early and hope for some pixie dust!

I would guess for those if you check in at least 10 minutes early you will sit down in time for at least most of the show. One advantage to a group of 7 is you will probably get your own table- no waiting for others to be seated also 9the tables I remember all sat 8 people. You are probably 1 of the first seatings for dinner- even if the place opens at 4pm for dinner (although it might be 4:30) they will slowly fill up the restraunt over the next hour to hour and a half- giving the servers time to get to everyone.

Not to overstate the obvious, but remember that an ADR isn't a reservation in the usual sense. It just means that you'll be seated at the first available table that opens up to host your party size.

Which means - if you show up a little early, and get your name on the "list," you might even get in before your stated ADR. It happened to us several times recently. Our one wait was at Boma - we showed up about 40 minutes early, just to give the folks in our party who'd never seen the AKL some time to stroll around - and we were seated exactly at our ADR time.

I have never waited more than 10 minutes past an ADR. Read that again. I did say NEVER. :thumbsup2

Sorry, meant getting in to ressies on time was funny, because it doesn't happen often. If you have an early ressie, be sure to check in at the podium as soon as it opens even if you don't have a ressie for that time, a lot of times with early ressies they will seat you earlier that your given time if someone has canceled or doesn't show up within the allotted grace period. Last year we had 6:30 pm for Ohanas and showed up at 5. We were seated within 10 minutes. Good luck and have fun.

We had just the opposite happen to us in Jan. I had been looking to eat at PT we had 810pm diner seating. While the boys rode one last ride i checked us in. it was very crowded. I got there at 750pm and 840 we left and there were people who came after us and got seated! The next day at Ohana we were late by 15 minutes and we were seated in 10 minutes!
