Do they turn folks away?

So you think I won't have a problem getting in the last week of Feb, staying offsite?

There is no way you are going to have any problem getting into any park you want at any time you want.....sleep in, relax and enjoy. The parks most likely will be virtually empty at this time of the year....you will probably have none to little waiting time to get onto the rides and attractions.

Many others have already said it, but since EsmeraldaX seems to have trouble believing it I will throw in also (maybe the more we say, the more likely she will believe it):p

You will NOT have any problems getting into any WDW park at any time of year!!! This is NOT a busy time of year.....

Here's your proof:

1 - What are you paying for a hotel room? (You don't have to answer me, just note it to yourself) Is it a really good, inexpensive rate? If you have a great rate, doesn't that indicate the crowds will be light? If the crowds were busy (even a lot of people were demanding hotel rooms) the room rates would be high - check out what they cost at Christmas.

2 - The link below shows the park hours from this past February. You will notice the parks close earlier at night. That is because the crowds are so light.

February 2003 hours

If this is the only thing you've got to worry about....You've got no worries!!!:sunny:

:(

I guess we're going to have to drag ourselves up. As much as I love Disney, I really wanted to be able to relax and sleep in later than I have to get up for work while on vacation.

We're staying offsite (cause it was free) with park hopper plus passes.

What happens if you have a PS reserved and you can't get into the park?

Does anyone know how often the parks fill to capacity? Does it happen much 2/21 - 03/01 ?

Thanks!

I highly doubt it will happen during your time frame. I've never heard of that happening except for super peak periods such as holidays, X-mas, New Years, etc. I wouldn't sleep in every day though, you get so much done when you arrive at park opening. I think it will be fairly moderate or even slow crowds when you are there. Have fun!

Oh go ahead and eat dinner at the Castle the first night, you can hop on the monorail very easily from Epcot. You should park at the TTC, go to Epcot from there and then hop over to MK. GEt on monorail at end of day and go back to your car. With just the two of you and no kids you will move through the parks very speedily! If the parks do seem crowded, Epcot is always the Park that absorbs and spreads out people the best. If you like the Beatles, catch the British Invasion at the UK and if you like MOnty Python don't miss the World Showcase Players. Off-Kilter in Canada is awesome too, as well as the LivingStatues in Italy. OK sorry for going on and on -- too much caffeine at dinner.

It's extremely doubtful that MK will close for capacity during that time, and almost unbelievable for Epcot. Don't worry about it. I stay onsite but never use EE at all (no way I'm getting up that early) and never have a lot of trouble at the parks. Use Fastpass if you run into crowds.

MK is usually busy on weekends. I wouldn't say you needed a PS for dinner in the castle (the big deal there is breakfast) but you may want to make one anyway just because it's a Saturday. Do the dinner, see the parade and shows, and come back to MK on a weekday if you have one in your schedule.

Parks really only reach capacity on some holidays (Christmas, New Years Eve, maybe July 4th or Memorial Day but on the lasttwo, it is usually limited to the Magic Kingdom).

Thank you everyone. I'm just really stressed out planning and I think that the stress is just making me think worst case scenario.

:( I feel a lot better now and have convinced DBF that we should get up early every morning and he seems ok with it. I just get worried because he's never really been and I'm trying to make this "his" perfect trip.

Jackie H. - We're staying offsite because DBF's mom has a time share at High Pointe and she couldn't use it this year. She gave it to us and so we are staying there for virtually nothing for the week.

We are staying an extra two nights at Sleep Inn & Suites to see the rest of Orlando's attractions and now that I look at it, we did get a really cheap rate (I think. $58.95 a night for a weekend in a suite?).

Kallison - We are both big Monty Python / British Comedy fans. We decided we will definately check that out in the UK at Epcot :)

Thank you all.

:)

It's also important to note that there are varying levels of "closure" for a park. I don't have the exact order, but it goes something like this:

1) They stop selling tickets to off-site people. Off-siters with tickets in-hand are still allowed in.
2) They close the parking lot and only allow on-site guests to enter the park using resort transportation.
3) They park is closed to everyone. If you're on-site, you'll be directed to another park for your guaranteed entry.

But as everyone else has said, you shouldn't have problems that time of year.

We've been to WDW the last two Easter's and only once two years ago did they close MK to guests. Christmas week and Easter week are reportedly the two busiest weeks of the year.

You should be fine in Feb. Don't lose any sleep and have a relaxing vacation!!:sunny:

Monty Python/British comedy fans should absolutely plan for an evening visiting the Adventurers Club on Pleasure Island. I find it to be much closer to that spirit than the World Showcase Players.

So the fact that we'll have our PH passes in hand will be helpful ?
That's correct, it'll give you a leg up if they have a "Level 1" closure. But I still don't think it'll be a problem for you.

Please go and have a good time and stop worrying. Make your PS at Cindys for dinner and get there at 12:30 if you want.....the place will be empty that time of year. I have been that time of the year and the parks are really empty!!! Do what you want when you want....more than likely you wouldn't even need a PS to eat a meal.
