Do they still sell the mac and cheese in a box that has a foil pouch of creamy sauce?

That's how I do it. And now my girls (17 and 20) refuse to eat it out of a box. And to make sure I knew the difference, dd20, says "mac and cheese is out of a box and cheesy noodles you real" :) Add some picante and its the BEST.

Ah! Never thought to add spice to it. Thanks. I have a bottle of sriracha somewhere...

My honey actually doesn't like real cheddar cheese, he won't eat home made mac and cheese and even buys the velveeta singles for sandwiches and hamburgers instead of the cheddar singles. Me, on the other hand, was raised with home made mac and cheese because we were poor and it was actually cheaper for us to buy a big ole block of cheese and milk and Mama baked it instead of making it on top of the stove.
I worked overnights and DW worked days for about 17 years of our kids growing up. That meant I fixed dinner, so that is was ready when DW came home. Homemade mac and cheese is so easy. I found the packaged stuff almost more work! Not sure it was cheaper because the powered Kraft Mac and Cheese boxed stuff used to go on sale from time to time for 10 cents a box! Sometimes the store brand version went on sale for 5 cents a box! But usually it came in 10 box packages.

For him it's a matter of not liking actual cheddar cheese, he doesn't care if it's easier or cheaper, he just doesn't like real cheddar cheese.

Step 1: Go to store
Step 2: Look at boxes of mac and cheese
Step 3: Find one that directs to add cheese sauce packet to macaroni
Step 4: If the instructions ask for the addition of milk and margarine/butter than this is not the item you want.
Step 5: Rejoice in your success.

Way to Scupper that for her.....

Yeah, years ago my kids daycare cook was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of the homemade mac and cheese she made for the kids. The kids hated it. They wanted the POWDERED Kraft Mac and Cheese, because they were used to that.
