A girl I work with is going to WDW for her honeymoon and wants to purchase the Bride and Groom Mickey Ears. She told me that the Groom Ears on the full-size top hat has not been sold in about 5 years. Is this true? I could have sworn I saw them there last year. They are selling for ridiculous prices on eBay!:bride: Any info would be helpful! :bride:

I'm not sure about in the parks, but Disney Florist still has the bride/groom package online.

I'm new to the boards, so I'm not allowed to post links, but I saw it there tonight.

Yes you should be able to find them without too much trouble.

The groom ears are definitely in shorter supply but the hat store on Main St. in the Magic Kingdom had them in October when I was there on my honeymoon.

I don't think it's been 5 years....but I could be wrong. I just remember going 2 years ago and I swore I saw them. I remember this because I was with my then-boyfriend-now-fiance (if that makes any sense, haha) and I wanted to buy one for him...I'm so regretting not getting one now! I just love the top hats more! I feel like they're more sophisticated. Oh well.:confused3

Just thought I'd mention this auction if anyone is interested:

They still make them like the ones that are posted in the link.

The actual top hat ones were discontinued. Why don't you pop over to the wedding and honeymoons section on the DIS. A few of the crafty type brides made their own top hat ones. Other than that you can only get the tuxedo groom hats at WDW. The bride ears come in either hat or headband form.

I brought the headband one in october after we got married in WDW

We had a tough time finding the ears we wanted before our honeymoon, but my sister was able to help save the day by creating bride and groom baseball cap-ears. They were actually pretty comfy to be wearing around (basically just a baseball hat) and saved a lot of stress with not being able to find the bride and groom ears we wanted.

She got just plain mickey ears for the groom's hat (and the hat itself was black with white lettering), and the headband for the bride's (white hat with black lettering). Super cute and a bit different!

I'd say the top hat ones were discontinued for a good reason! We bought them and my husbands head was to big! It literally sat on top of his head! It was probably over an 1.5" to small! It was disappointing. I loved my bride ears though. The headband was comfortable bc it didn't have that annoying strap!! I'd buy the style them currently gave for grooms at the park. Especially if your fiancé has a big head!

There definitely was a bride/groom one when we were there in Jan. The lady in front of me in the hat shop was having them personalized.

I saw the ears too last week -

And also I saw matching black t-shirts with the Broadway profile(the white stencil) of Beauty on one, and one of Beast. I thought those could be fun for honeymooners....

When I was there in September, I got the bride ears on a headband and we also saw the top hat/tuxedo ears on more of the typical style of the "ears" hat. I know that there are slightly different ones that are either discontinued, or only available to DFW, because I did see some newlyweds wearing them :)

So, to be clear, as far as I know:
For bride ears, they currently have this style:

NOT this style:

And for groom ears, I saw this style at Sir Mickey's and the Main Street hat store:

Hope that helps :goodvibes

We saw both bride and groom ears... I bought them last September. I personally like the headbands (as was shown above) better than the "hats," though they seemed harder to find in the park. At all the resorts I went to, though, they had them in abundance.

Thanks for all your responses. My friend was definitely looking for the actual top hat version, not the Mickey "beanie" type hat w/ the tuxedo. I'll give her the info on making one. I had also read on other threads that they ran really small!

My DH and I Disneymooned in Aug 2009 and we purchased him the Mickey ear top hat, when we went back in Aug 2010 for our 1 year anniversary the top hat was no longer for sale.

Hope that helps!

They were really small! We were there on our honeymoon in 2006. I got the headband bride ears and hubby got the top hat version. It really didn't fit his head.
