I thought I read somewhere that the Wilderness Lodge has a free tour offered that shows you around the Lodge and some of the details and such. Since we are staying there in December for our first two nights, I thought this might be something nice to do. Does anyone know if they are still offering this, the times, where you sign up, and if it is still free? Thanks in advance

Yes the tour is offered. Ranger Stan does an excellent job and has become a personal friend over the years. You can contact the concierge for times and plans. Ranger Stan will be having knee replacement surgery in October so he will be out for a while recuperating but should be back by the time of your trip.

IF you are interested in the tour you might also like to raise the flag on the roof. I believe they only allow one family per day so ask about it when you check in. I haven't done it ( MY Dd's were too young) but it seems like it would be a unique experience.

We were just there Aug. 27-Sept. 4. They were offering the tours daily at 9am. My DH wanted to do it so bad, but it never worked out. We were the flag family on our last day though and it was UNBELIEVABLE - try to do that if you can (ask when you check in). ENJOY!!!
