Many were empty; best to have plenty of your own just in case.
It’s just forming a protective layer on your handsI just want to add, that even if they have sanitizer in them the stuff they use is horrible! After a few uses it starts to pile up on your hands like you had dried glue on them, just a weird feeling over all. After my trip last august I decided I would bring my own. I get the little bottles from bath and body works that attach to my bag, and usually bring several with me for the family (4-5, although we never run through them all, there was the time my youngest was playing with it while I walked and it fell without me knowing so it was good to have plenty of extras on hand). They do sell the in the gift shops for not a lot of money so if you don't bring enough it's easy to get.
And then peeling off with all the germs maybe? It’s just forming a protective layer on your hands![]()

Just got back yesterday.Just wondering how much to pack.
You are absolutely correct and science backs that up.PSA: Although decent in Covid times and for general colds in a pinch, remember that hand sanitizer is ineffective against norovirus (causes gastroenteritis aka the stomach bug) and a good old soap and water scrub is always best.
Yep. We are bringing our own hand santizer and sanitizing wipes (exactly as we did pre covid) but we will also be making a point to frequently wash our hands with soap and water. You are absolutely correct and science backs that up.
When I was there July 9-19th, the dispensers were all empty by the end of the day. At the beginning of the day they were not. Maybe they're only filling them once per day?Lots of reports that dispensers are empty. IIRC, one report said that they tried 16 dispensers before getting any sanitizer!
