Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

So I came home from work today and a Walt Disney World special from 2005 is on the History Channel...I took that as a sign to update this report!

...the Poly beach to relax and watch Hallowishes...I wish it was the regular Wishes this night, but alas there is a Halloween party most nights during the fall...it will still be a great way to relax and check out the fireworks though and I am really looking forward to it :goodvibes

I actually didn't know that the fireworks were different on days when there was a party running. I geuss we're going to have to try and catch Hallowishes and the regular Wishes while on our trip! *back to schedule*:surfweb:

Your relaxing day plans sound amazing!:cool1:

I'm hoping to have at lead one "rest day" on our next family trip... we've always been early to the parks, go!go!go!, last ones to leave. No wonder we're always so exhausted! ;)

Just had dinner at 'Ohana for the first time... so yummy! Will definitely go back on future trips!

That's so funny! When we went for our honeymoon in 1993 I really didn't see the point in adults watching a parade so we skipped it for short HM lines. My sister and her friend were there at the same time and took lots of pictures of the parade. When we got home and everybody got their pictures back she had pictures of those freaky clowns on the giant balls and I was so glad we had skipped it. :rotfl:

I have been having trouble finding Disney stuff on U-verse (the search function doesn't search descriptions, only titles and actors) so I downloaded the TV Guide app and was able to find the show that was playing today and record it. I need to search again and see if I can find some more stuff. Not enough Disney Shows lately. Samantha Brown needs to do a Disney special every year!

I want to watch fireworks from the Poly beach but we are going the later luau and will most likely miss them.

:rotfl: I am so glad you knew what I meant by those freaky clowns!! they were just so random and have stuck in my memory all these years!

I wish Samantha Brown would have more Disney specials too, I really enjoy her shows a lot!!

Sounds like a great rest day! I keep thinking of MAYBE going to a water park one day, but we're already doing so much as it is...and I have to keep reminding myself, I'm not a water park girl! :rotfl:

Yay, 'Ohana! I always hear negative things about it too, but if people are so dissatisfied with it, why is it impossible to get an ADR there? It's seriously becoming harder to get than Le Cellier! :scared1: I'm with you though, I like the starters and the dessert the best, the meat is just whatever!

Can't wait to find out where you end up in Pop!

I am not a water park girl either, I love all of the rides, but to be honest it is such a pain to walk and wait in my bathing suit :lmao: I do love lazy rivers though, I mean how can you not?!?

I agree, if you dont like Ohana stop booking it, because it keeps getting harder to get an ADR there!! It is one of the hardest restaurants to get into I feel I like!! DBF already stated he is going to eat his share of meat to get his money's worth...Ill have to roll him to the Poly beach :rotfl:

Pool time is a must:goodvibes We love O'Hana's too...one of our favorites...mmmmm lapu lapus...I didn't get one on this trip...they don't serve them at breakfast:lmao:

Wishes and Hallowishes...I love them both:goodvibes I can't wait to hear how you like watching them from the beach!:thumbsup2

We have really enjoyed our pool time at our condos this summer, so I am excited to be able to go swimming during October :thumbsup2

Lapu Lapus should be an any time drink!! Then again you might not make it through the day if you had one at breakfast :rotfl:

I am getting very excited about watching from the beach, it is something DBF has never done and I have read lots about

Love your "rest day" plans...pool time and a visit to the Poly.

Even though its rest day, its actually one of the days I am most excited about :goodvibes

I love those relaxing days at Disney! This one sounds perfect:goodvibes

I wish I could go to Disney for 2 weeks and have more rest days in between, but work gets in the way of that!!:goodvibes

Relaxing days are always so nice, especially ones that end on the Poly beach. I know what you mean about HalloWishes, though. When I was there in December, all I saw were the holiday fireworks, and I had kind of wanted to see what regular Wishes was like.
Either way, you two will still enjoy yourselves and the fireworks!:thumbsup2

I LOVE HalloWishes, but regular Wishes still has such a special place in my heart...plus Tim has never seen regular Wishes!!

Fireworks on the Poly beach are awesome! You won't regret that choice at all.

I can't wait to have my fruity drink, beach, and fireworks....and who says Disney is for kids :confused3

Looks like a good plan for a rest day! Can't go wrong with some pool time and fireworks from the Poly.

I can't wait!! I even have a hard time watching fireworks anywhere else, because Disney is just the best!

I actually didn't know that the fireworks were different on days when there was a party running. I geuss we're going to have to try and catch Hallowishes and the regular Wishes while on our trip! *back to schedule*:surfweb:

Your relaxing day plans sound amazing!:cool1:

On nights where there are parties they have the HalloWishes..also the party nights do there fireworks at 930 instead of 9 I believe...but dont take my word on that :rotfl:

We are going to be at rope drop as much as possible and running around like crazy, so the rest day will be much needed! The last few trips I didnt take a rest day and regretted it big time!!

I am glad that you liked Ohana! Its one of my faves!:thumbsup2

So I suppose I better get going with these PTR, since we are only 31 days away!! YAY!! And you know what that means? We got Mickey Mail the other day!!! I was SO excited to see that in the mailbox! For some reason they sent me my ME info, but didnt send for Tim...thats odd...so we need to call and follow up

Also being a proud Massachusetts girl until I decided to move away for college...I made a big decision and broke down and attended a Nascar race with Tim :rotfl: Honestly it was a BLAST!! Here we are meeting R Lee Ermey, he was in Full Metal Jacket if you have seen that movie...he is also the voice of Sarge in Toy Story!!!

We also have had a couple of theme nights :goodvibes

First up Haunted Mansion....I think we both knew this wasn't going to blow us away, but I thought it was pretty cute...I loved the references to the ride

Here are some brownies I made and displayed on our Mickey plate

SAM_0441.jpg

We also watched Alice in Wonderland...first time for Tim...it is such an odd movie..I always forget that!!

I made some signs and we hung lanterns

It was Tim's birthday just the day before, so we had wonderful cupcakes to celebrate his birthday and unbirthday the day of theme night :goodvibes Wish I could say we made these, but I ordered them from a local bakery

SAM_0431.jpg

SAM_0432.jpg

I made taco pinwheels and ranch and turkey pinwheels for dinner :goodvibes

My DH is always trying to get me to go to a Nascar race, he's been to a few and loves them, and I keep telling him no way! I'm sure it would be fun, but I don't think I could deal with how loud it is there! Glad you had a good time!

Cute theme nights! Those cupcakes look good! :thumbsup2

Our youngest son's girlfriend's parents are big Nascar fans...just something that never interested us, but glad you had a good time.

I love the Haunted Mansion theme night. You are so right...Alice in Wonderland is really a very odd movie.

31 days...it will be here before you know it (trust me I know :rotfl::rotfl:).

Sorry I've been MIA but I'm all caught up now! Love your plans for MK and your rest day. I always say I'm going to plan one of those but it never happens. Ohanas was so much fun and I agree the apps and desserts were awesome!

Yay for 2 more theme nights and love the characters waffles, we have the same waffle maker/toaster thingie!

Yay for one month! It's always fun to see that ME envelope in the mail. :thumbsup2

I made a big decision and broke down and attended a Nascar race with Tim :rotfl: Honestly it was a BLAST!!
:thumbsup2 Glad you had fun! I love going to races... especially if you've got some fun people to go with and get there early enough to tailgate.:lmao:

Looks like some more good theme nights. Only 31 days!!! Wow, it is coming up quick!:woohoo:

How cool that you got to meet "Sarge":cool1: I had no idea that it was him that was the voice...didn't put 2 and 2 together I guess:confused3

Love your theme nights...your brownies look delish!!!

That so cool that you met "Sarge"! And, I always thought it'd be interesting to attend a Nascar race, just to see what it was like! Those cupcakes look awesome too!

More cool theme nights! I have the same Mickey plates- they're very magical. :goodvibes

We're planning on dinner at Ohana and Hallowishes from the beach one night, too. I'm excited to see how they look from the beach. I bet it'll be cool!

It was actually a really fun time, especially after a beer or two :goodvibes Plus the tickets were free from a raffle at work :rotfl:

Anytime Tim watches Nascar on TV it is instant nap time for us both :rotfl:

I cannot wait to go I am getting so antsy!! :goodvibes

Tim is already talking about possible things we can do on our rest day such as visit a park :rotfl:

The waffle maker is so cute, but the waffles come out small and take a while to make a good amount :rotfl:

Woohoo, just a month left! :woohoo:

Mmmmm, cupcakes. Those look yummy!

I have put us both on a diet (lets see how this works out :rotfl:) so I can only drool over cupcake pics now!!

Yay for one month! It's always fun to see that ME envelope in the mail. :thumbsup2

I keep looking over the Mickey mail and the new luggage tags are adorable :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Glad you had fun! I love going to races... especially if you've got some fun people to go with and get there early enough to tailgate.:lmao:

Looks like some more good theme nights. Only 31 days!!! Wow, it is coming up quick!:woohoo:

We were there at 11 am to tailgate and walk around for a 745 pm race, I was exhausted :goodvibes

How cool that you got to meet "Sarge":cool1: I had no idea that it was him that was the voice...didn't put 2 and 2 together I guess:confused3

Love your theme nights...your brownies look delish!!!

I didnt know he was either...I was standing in line to get his autograph for my brother who is overseas in the military and loves the movie Full Metal Jacket...and Tim was looking him up online to see what other movies he was in and saw that :goodvibes

Thank you, I can't cook very well, but I can bake :rotfl:

More cool theme nights! I have the same Mickey plates- they're very magical. :goodvibes

We're planning on dinner at Ohana and Hallowishes from the beach one night, too. I'm excited to see how they look from the beach. I bet it'll be cool!

I love the Mickey plates!! I just wish I had more Mickey kitchenware!!

I am hoping the weather will be great and it should be a nice relaxing way to watch the fireworks!! Its wonderful to watch them inside MK, but its nice to avoid that crowd!

That so cool that you met "Sarge"! And, I always thought it'd be interesting to attend a Nascar race, just to see what it was like! Those cupcakes look awesome too!

It was GREAT people watching :thumbsup2 I took some pictures to show my co workers of random people I saw at the race

Our sixth day at WDW is our second day for EPCOT, I figured this park had enough going on to dedicate two days to :thumbsup2 Plus Tim has not really visited EPCOT on his last couple trips, so I have a lot to show him :goodvibes

We are going to get there bright and early as usual (my hopes of sleeping in at all on vacation is slim to none with Tim in charge :rotfl:)

We have a 1 pm lunch ADR at Chefs, I am so hoping to see our buddy

4186099426_cc141d06bb_z.jpg

This is our first time visiting Chefs and we are both really looking forward to this lunch

After lunch we are going to tour EPCOT and do everything we missed on Monday...and of course do some things over again like Soarin' We don't have any dinner plans so we are going to walk around the F&W festival again and check out different items

Grand-Marnier-Orange-Slush.jpg

I of course have to have a slush of some sort at some point this evening :goodvibes Tim has never had one so I will be kind enough to let him get his own :rotfl:

After we are done touring EPCOT for the day, we are thinking we might go walk around Boardwalk and check out the resort area

2589317147_52db5f89a6.jpg

Tim has not really walked around Boardwalk, so this should be fun :goodvibes

That's great that you've dedicated two park days for Epcot! Mmmmm slushie of any kind I would be game for! Oh and Boardwalk at night....simply beautiful!

Yay sounds like a fun Epcot day! I can't wait to try Chef's too, I just watched Ratatouille for the first time yesterday, and I hope I can see Remy, although we might be too late, we have a very late lunch ADR. :confused3

Mmmm I love those slushies! Can't wait to have one in 8 days!!!

The Boardwalk is so much fun, I've only really walked around there once, but I'd love to explore over there more if we had the time!

Mmm, that slush looks delicious!
Laid back Epcot days are so nice. Plus, you kind of need to slow down and take your time when touring the World in order to catch a lot of things.
I think going to the Boardwalk is a nice change of pace. :thumbsup2
